If your house is built using roof trusses it would be easy to look in the attic and see what direction they are running. Or just look a the ridge of your roof. A bearing wall will run perpendicular to the roof and floor joists of trusses. I agree with an earlier post that I doubt it is a bearing wall. That is definitely non-bearing construction. But yeah, some people do some shady stuff in construction.

Agreed. There'd be, most likely, a header above it with 2x10s turned on edge. That's framed to be a non-load wall with 2x4's on the wide edge. If it is load-bearing, the builder was a dipshit.
