My initial impression is that he's too similar to Karlaftis (please educate me if I'm wrong here) and we'd prefer a guy with the opposite play style to George in order to better compliment our DL.

I'm going to watch him today! But man, he's the player I get most frustrated seeing mocked to us bc I don't think he fits our need at all. He's too undersized, seems like an OLB to me. Am I wrong on this one guys? Educate me?

He's similar to George, yes.

However, I'm not sure the Chiefs wouldn't prefer two guys like George over getting a speed rusher. I'd prefer to see a complementary pass rusher opposite George but I'm not sure the Chiefs value that right now.

When you see his actual pass rush snaps he has a lot of talent, spin move is top notch, explosion is there etc.

You just have to question if he can add to the frame without losing anything, if he could get up to 260 with the same traits he can play here.

I want him just to see Frankie Kmet more often. :D

I do really like VanNess though. He might be there in a trade-up scenario with a team like Minnesota at 23 (kind of my target trade up team for capital expenditure)

He's a good fit for us but the top 20 talk seems wild to me. We'd be bringing a lot of power but we're not really offering a speed rush.

I thought he was already 270.

He played last year at like 235.

Tip of the cap to Ferentz even though I think he's a shitty in game coach probably because he's from the Pioli/Polian mold but looking at this draft Iowa has guys at alot of positions who will be drafted and they were low rated recruits.

I guess looking at a guy like Van Ness, Moss. Etc whats the ceiling?

One site listed him as 275.:hmmm:

According to the ISU website, he was 238.

According to the USA Today, he weighed in "around 240" at the combine.

His draft profile at PFN lists him as 241.

That all being said, I'm seeing things gel for him around the end of the top 10. Lots of talk about him going to the Falcons at 8.

Looks like he is out of reach for the Chiefs regardless. I trust your numbers, I'm not sure why he was listed much heavier here:
