Veach let him walk, I trust Burt. Moore is gonna step up this season.

EB, OBJ, and Mecole… people who have a seriously overinflated view of themselves compared to how the rest of the league views them.

He has the speed.
Better than average hands.
But the smarts of a 10 year old.

IMO, Reid's scheme accounts for that.

Remember that Alex Smith running Reids offense was a snooze fest.

I don't think it's as damning as you're suggesting.

He's showing some self awareness is all, its a fair assessment.

Spott 03-31-2023 09:33 AM

Funny, he didn’t come closing to being a #1 WR after Tyreek and Sammie left either.

kcpasco 03-31-2023 09:34 AM

Mecole is old news and replaceable. I do respect what he did for us.

He should stop responding to random people on Twitter… probably good advice for everyone.

He literally said this last year too.

Here's some interesting trivia for you. How many yards from scrimmage did Mecole have in his two Super Bowls? Answer below.

Spoiler!

I'll salute Mecole on his way out, though. No Chief has more Super Bowl rings than Mecole Hardman, and he tried to play through injuries more than many players would.

chiefzilla1501 03-31-2023 10:19 AM

I guess I’m not sure why I should be outraged. I don’t care that he was a WR1 and I don’t care that he accepted this. He played a specific role and he played it well, and it’s ok if he never lived up to performing well outside of that role. We moved on from him as much as he did from us. Have zero hard feelings about this.

BWillie 03-31-2023 10:51 AM

Hardman would be possibly even out of the league if he went to any other team. Hes a product of Andy Reids genius

This was my first thought. I completely agree with his point. Being a WR1 is way out of reach for him. Same goes for WR2. Same for WR3 if you count tight ends as WRs. He's a JAG. Always has been, always will be. Doubt he'll ever have a 700+ yard season receiving. He's a gadget player and not a very good one.

His targets went from 41 to 62 to 83 over his first 3 seasons. He had 693 yards 2 years ago, with Hill still here. He was on pace for a little over 72 targets or so already last season before he got hurt and his targets were going up over the last 3 games he played (he had a season high 6 targets against Tennessee and then he got hurt).

I'm not arguing he's a great player or anything but had he stayed healthy this season, he would have broken 700 yards.
