Yea and there will be teams with like 16 total 1st rounders so you have to realize that when you read that comment.

Apparently we don't remotely see the same thing there.

Yes, in every way.

If we don't, we don't, and that's okay.

I think Flowers floor, is Tyler Lockett, I don't see that style of player in Moore.

This, I 100% agree with. I think all of them outside of JSN are truly fringe talents but so too are a lot of the rest of the positions outside the top 18 players or so. That doesn't mean they won't get selected in the 1st round, it just means there's as good a chance they drop out of the round as there is that they get picked in it, and the same for other positions. I think there are more questions with much of the ER and DL talent than the WR talent in that range plus the league has placed more and more of a premium value on WRs over the past several years. These guys will most likely get snapped up earlier than they would have 10 years ago.

I really struggled to put your guy Flowers in round 1, for example, but I think he's a better player at his position than guys like Nolan Smith, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Ade Abedawore, Keion White, Mazi Smith, Will McDonald, and so on are at their positions. Then you also have the factor of team need versus that BPA and it just makes more sense.

His floor? More likely his ceiling. Or he could be Elijah Moore or worse. You can never be too certain. He probably will fit somewhere in that range though and there's a vast difference between Lockett and Moore.

Similarly, Hyatt could be the next DeSean or he could be the next Will Fuller. We have no idea. Hyatt is much more explosive though, at least coming in, and that's a big differentiator for me along with size.

Will Fuller was fine when he wasn't hurt.

Nobody's floor is Tyler Lockett in this entire draft.

Few people's floors in ANY draft are guys who may end up with 700 receptions for 10,000 yards when all is said and done.

Flowers and Moore are extremely similar players. I think Flowers is a better version of Moore, don't get me wrong, but if you draft Flowers, you're burying Moore.

If you draft Hyatt you might be layering MVS, but that's a short-term issue anyway as MVS is gone next year. Meanwhile, you may well end up with 2 very dynamic outside weapons in Toney/Hyatt, a deep slot player not unlike Victor Cruz was and an underneath possession guy in Moore.

The respective skill-sets dovetail better, IMO.

I like Flowers just fine, but agree that his skillset is somewhere between Toney and Moore's while Hyatt is more like Hardman and Hill.

As to Hyatt - wholly reasonable pick.

Not the direction I'd go (I'd take White and look to the 2nd for my WR) but I don't have any qualms with it either. Besides, it sets up the Hyatt/Gibbs 1-2 outcome that's just pure Madden porn...

Couch-Potato 04-11-2023 02:34 PM

I'm 100% down with Hyatt in the first, would be incredible to nab Gibbs in the 2nd as a follow up! They are the most exciting options for us in the draft.

I like what you did with the Texans and would hate to see Philly get Bijan Robinson!

chiefforlife 04-13-2023 12:16 AM

Yeah thats a BOLD move by Houston.

Toad 04-13-2023 08:49 AM

Hyatt at 31 is more than fine (to me). Do we really need to move up to get him? I’m thinking he makes it to 31.

I’d rather we use the draft capital to move up in the 2nd to nab our DEOTF (Foskey/White/Ojulari/etc).

Tweaked er up. I thought it would be final but the Jets trade and some personal thoughts got in the wya.

What are we giving up to get to 14? If not the farm, I could go for this.
