I could've put Downs in that list as well, but I don't see them going with him at 31, and he's probably gone very early in the 2nd.

I would bump Johnston to 4 and move those others up I think. But yeah, I like alot of those dudes the more I've watched. I think I'm lower on Hyatt than some, and alot HIgher on Mingo and Mims.

Because the league doesn't think NEARLY as much of OBJ as he thinks of himself.

If you look at what they did objectively, they're trying to get better at pass blocking. Maybe Taylor can't make the switch but if he can, he has the tools to be a WAY better pass blocker than OBJ. NFL execs, by and large, are stubborn but they're not stupid. This team got better at LT with those 2 moves and everybody knows it. The Bengals are just hoping that OBJ is enough of an upgrade over the shit they've had there recently to overcome the Chiefs' upgrade.

If we were to smash the last 3 drafts together, where would this draft class of WRs slot in?

scho63 04-12-2023 10:01 AM

What a crock!

"Change" focus? BULLSHIT!

Chiefs knew they had a < 2% chance at OBJ and didn't waste much time invested in trying to sign him.

They were ALWAYS focused on WR, DE, OT and several other high need positions once FA ended and we knew who was gone.

FTR, free agency is FAR from over. If past history is any indicator, there's still significant role players that have yet to sign. There's going to be some vets on both sides of the ball that don't sign until after June cuts. For example, I think McKinnon comes back on a 1-year deal but he doesn't sign until right before camp.

I definitely like what I've seen from Mims. I might prefer him over some of the projected 1st rounders. But I'm a sucker for speed.

Here’s an interesting nugget: Nate said on the pod that the Chiefs wanted to bring back Justin Watson but apparently they disagreed.

Wonder if he wanted more money and Veach elected to sign Richie James for a cheaper price?

Veach thinks he can find a whitey cheaper in FA

High key hoping we double dip WR and double or triple on DE/DL. This draft should have teams taking corners and letting some other needs slide to us.

Veach probably told him that he doesn't give raises to players that drop half their catchable balls.

I'll be honest, as much **** as I gave Watson, I'd like to have him back. His size/speed combo is nice to have on the field.

Yeah, anyone who thinks the Chiefs had any interest in bringing him back, that comment should let you know exactly where they stood.

Wait, was told here to “deal with it” not only was he going to stay he was going to get paid.

To be fair, Andy & Veach were saying all the things they were supposed to say. Most people assumed they'd go the "safe" route and keep him, although I never saw paying Brown as being safe at all, and clearly they didn't either.

What about Dell? Thinking he isn't a target?

Those are my round 1 & 2 guys.

I love Dell in round 3, and even moreso if he falls to round 4 because of his size.
