You comfortable saying that if Wright slides?

And you've already acknowledged that you could see it happening if Harrison is there.

In my mind, Wright was already a bottom of the 1st/high 2nd rounder. If he "falls" it will be past 31. I personally wouldn't draft him at 31. Harrison, I would. There's a couple of other guys I like too but they probably have zero chance of being there, even if we trade up into the 20's.

LT -RT if you draft a guy in teh first is gonna be the most expensive OL in teh league by a long shot.

I think the quote was something along the lines of, "It seems the Chiefs have figured out that as long as you protect Mahomes, nothing else matters, and they may be right".

I really miss this OL
Remmers, Allegretti, Reiter, Wisniewski and Wylie

That would not be true for this coming season but in the future it could be. We currently are at $37,386,579 for OL which is down the list. The highest would be the Falcons, $60,535,766 followed by the Lions at $59,236,219.

We have seen Patrick Mahomes running for his life and it is always a good idea to protect your franchise. Investing in the OL is a good thing for the Chiefs to do.

If we go OT first...in 5 years we will have the highest paid Center and one of the highest paid LT's in the league...I assume at that point Thuney and Taylor are probably gone Trey Smith is 50/50.

But yea it is a lot of investment when some other positions may matter more.

You don't think they'll resign any of the young guys?

For sure Thuney is gone, he's about to likely age out.

I can't see Smith staying, he'll get paid a ton somewhere.

Isn't that WHY a cost controlled OT with a 5th year option is so valuable? You can't pay for everyone.

Let him tumble straight to 31 where I'd gladly bombard Veach with texts to grab him... of course, I just need Veach's number.

Completely agree. This OT class has depth and we might not be able to get a good one for a while so strike while we can I say. Either one would be great.

Couch-Potato 04-20-2023 06:13 PM

He's probably the safest 1st round pick we could make.

I'm not sure anything matters more than keeping Mahomes healthy.

I've been against rt in R1 but this could change my mind. I was iffy on Anton Harrison depending on the board, but shit this could be a gift from the gods. Sorry about all those Donko years of bullshit, have a stud LT.

I'd expect us to go back to JAGs at guard like we did when we had stud tackles.
