Definitely sucks, but fortunate for him that medical personnel got to him as quickly as they did.

I really don't want to divert attention away from the topic, but i've often wondered if my son would still be with us if his episode happened on the basketball court instead of at a friends house on a Saturday night.

As much as i've never been a fan of Lebron, i can understand the fear and uncertainty he and his family is going through right now and i wish them all nothing but the best outcome and a long, happy and healthy life.

Probably so. Even if there isn't dedicated medical staff on standby, chances are there'll be SOMEBODY that can help.

Genuinely sorry to hear you lost your son to a similar situation.

Wow, man...I'm really sorry to see that. I can't imagine what you and your family went through with that.

I am so sorry to hear that you and your family went through that.

I do think you are right that if a cardiac event like this was to take place, that you can’t really ask for a better place (if this a cardiac event was to occur) than in a sporting or a medical venue.

Damn I'm so sorry to hear that. We lost my brother the summer after he graduated and that was 12 years ago this summer. The way it effected my mom is so sad. It legit changed the person she was and I don't think she ever recovered. I couldn't imagine losing a child.

A parent should NEVER have to bury their child. That's probably the most painful thing imaginable.

Pablo 07-25-2023 06:34 PM

Yeah I don’t want to think about that

Hope bronny turns out fine and sorry to hear about your son rfaulk

I've had to go two funerals where that's happened.

One was about a decade ago was someone who I grew up in the neighborhood with (his sister was friends with my sister). He was born with a brain tumor and eventually succumbed to it in his early 20's.

Another was last year when my friend died.

Seeing both parents and siblings grieve those days aren't something I think I'll forget anytime soon and don't wish that upon anyone.

For the record, this is almost certainly not a heart attack. A heart attack (blockage of blood flow to the heart) is a possible cause of cardiac arrest (heart stops beating) but far from the only cause. This was probably due to some kind of arrhythmia, caused by either a genetic heart defect or over-training.
