That’s what I’m saying.. it’s simultaneously impressive and a huge example of stepping on your own dick.

Like, you clearly flubbed this by drafting a guy who, 2 years into his NFL career, still hasn’t attempted 500 actual game passes in high school, college or the pros combined at #3 overall. At the same time, you seemingly hit on a QB in the 7th round and that can make it all OK.

I don’t know if I should be impressed or what..

As good as the 49ers have been, imagine if they hadn’t blown the Lance or Solomon Thomas picks.

They’d be a dynasty for sure.

I think about that quite a bit. That's blowing MULTIPLE 1sts and still having a ton of talent. It's crazy.

If they had gone QB instead of Thomas, they're a dynasty.

Just blue-skying, because under no circumstances do i think KC should trade for this guy.

However, does anyone think that Andy could turn this guy into a starting QB? I'm not sure I can envision that, based on Trey's performance thus far in the preseason. But I never saw him in college, so . . . ?

Too bad our cap space is a sack of pussy farts.

This is the kind of trade Andy could eventually convert in a one and more.

RunKC 08-23-2023 03:31 PM

If you're the Broncos and can get him for a mid round pick, why not? He cost literally nothing

scho63 08-23-2023 03:38 PM

The pro game is SO much faster than college.

Not every college star QB succeeds in the NFL.

The pile of QB failures is high.

Eh, there just might not be much there to develop. For all the flaws Kyle Shanahan has as a head coach, he has pulled a lot of chicken salad out of chicken shit at the QB position, even if it is a self made problem.

Mr_Tomahawk 08-23-2023 03:45 PM

Send him to Washington and see if EB can make him into the 2nd coming of Mahomes as he was made out to be...

Kind of surprised Shanahan and Lynch aren't eviscerated for this. Looking at all the talent in the top half of that 2021 draft class and the two first they gave up in 2022 and 2023 they very well may have cost themselves a chance at multiple championships with how close that roster is. A massive blunder.

I rip Ratface Jr all the time for this.

Bottom line is when push has come to shove and the franchise has had big decisions to make at the QB position, Ratface has shit the bed each and every time. He's done it twice to this team.

He's a fine coach. Maybe even a great coach. But he's sure as hell not a QB whisperer like so many people think he is.

Lance to Baltimore, you heard it from me first

OR: Lance just sucks that bad.

i think I agree. Shanahan seems to actively eschew even the idea of acquiring a truly great-elite QB. It's like he hates great QBs. He seems to want average more than anything.

His system covers up the flaws of QBs pretty well, they don't have to do too much but it also limits them to quite a degree.

I think he wants consistent, predictable, repeatable.

I think he'd be happy with a Brady, but has no interest in anything that goes other than exactly as he draws it up
