I've been watching it this year. Mahomes has missed so many receivers. He has missed wide open receivers deep. For sure 6 points and is looking at them but its Ross or MVS so he doesn't thrown them the ball.

Maybe that happens in every game but since I've never looked at the All-22.

-Regarding Mahomes 2nd INT: Really nothing there to be had in terms of open receivers. No idea what Mahomes thought when he threw that ball. At no point was Kelce ever open. He had one guy over the top and one guy underneath trailing.

Reid tripped on Dannas helmet that had been illegally shoved off his head on that TD throw.

Your covering a revciever that you know could be getting the ball thrown his way for a TD.

Last thing you are thinking is there is a Helmut on the ground in your way.:doh!:

This is every game, every week.

"Open" isn't always open.

This.

And to kinda round out my thoughts on the Jets game:

-Chiefs had Sneed shadow Wilson every time they went Man. Not sure how much they went Man, but it seemed to be frequent. He did a good job i thought. The near TD that Wilson overthrew Wilson on, Sneed got caught flat footed (expecting a shorter route? looking at the QB?) and Garret ran right by him.

Sneed had a snap i had to watch over and over because i thought maybe i was missing something...but he absolutely man handled Garret Wilson on one snap. Caught him in the press and jammed him so well GW couldn't get off the LoS. You almost never see that in the NFL and the fact that he did it to GW.../ovation for Sneed. Sorry i don't have a timestamp for it, it was somewhere late in the 4th.

-Saw more Rashee Rice than i expected to see. Curious as to what his snap count was. Rashee seemed faster than i expected as well. Explosive off the line. I don't think we're too far off from it being Rashee SZN.

-Toney's movement skills and how he sells routes....just Allen Iverson ankle breaking stuff. Fun to watch him even when he's not getting the ball.

-Seemed to me that more often than not, when the Chiefs ran the ball Moore came out of the game and Rice came in. Every snap wasn't like that, but more snaps than not. And MVS looks good out there. Looks the part. Big, fast, quick. That drop he had in the 3rd or 4th quarter...the one where the DB banged into him and dislodged the ball....that was a freakin' sweet route. Yeah he runs a lot of deep patters, but defenses ARE respecting him. He takes two with him everytime he runs those routes.

Would be interested in what you're seeing with Sneed. Aside from the usual solid tackling his coverage has looked way off his best to me.

Vs the Jets i thought he did a great job against Wilson. You can tell what the Chiefs think of him by having him shadow Wilson when they went man, and they went man fairly frequently.

I noticed him shadowing guys in prior games too.

If that's what they're asking of Sneed (and by default McDuffie etc) then i think it's fair if they get beat from time to time.

Yeah, the more I watch of that stuff.....MVS, Rice and Toney are your big 3 WR"s. THen need the targets, they're getting open.

RaidersOftheCellar 10-04-2023 11:48 AM

Is Toney getting limited snaps due to reaggravating that injury, or is he just not a big part of the gameplan right now? Seems like he can get open at will.

Jets ran man 40% of their total defensive snaps.

I think this is something that isn't talked about enough. Players can have an impact without getting a lot of targets or receptions. MVS is a solid player. When he's not getting targets, he's helping to create opportunities for other receivers. Mahomes has also missed some opportunities when he was wide open.

Cool, interesting, thanks Detoxing

MVS is basically doing what MVS always does, he's a role player.

Kelce so far hasn't looked like Kelce, probably the knee and age and all that.

xztop123 10-04-2023 04:38 PM

On Pacheco monster run. Our lt gets knocked down and wraps both of his arms around the defenders ankle attempting to tackle him.

More ridiculously stupid things by our ots

Should have been a holding call nullifying Pacheco a td run

Btw w: we had both left and right tackles lined up on the left side of the play in that run.

Not sure what In gods name Donovan smith is thinking tackling a guys leg
