Dude made a deal to save his skin and agreed to a lifetime ban. Well...stay is lifted. Go ahead and put him in. |

He has a starting spot in whatever baseball league of cheaters that Shoeless Joe and the rest of the Black Sox have started in the afterlife.
|
He was a dick, and ultimately his own worst enemy, but he was also one of the greatest players of all time and should absolutely be in the HOF. And I think it's pretty hard for the MLB whores to keep anybody out over gambling at this point since they themselves have crawled in bed with it. It's not like he ever bet on himself or his team to lose.
RIP. |

Same with Joe Jackson and the splits behind high leverage and low leverage situations. Dude was unbelievably good in the playoff series when games didn’t matter and uncharacteristically terrible when they mattered. He definitely threw the series |
The big Red machine was my favorite team as a kid.
Loved Pete Rose |

I think he ABSOLUTELY did. That's why he signed the deal. He wanted MLB to stop digging and at the time that mattered more to him than the HoF or anything else. He did it to himself and I absolutely believe that the reason is that when the digging continued, there'd be no doubt what the outcome would be apart from possible prison time. |
Being locked out of the Hall of Fame did more for the reputation of Pete Rose than getting in ever would have. I am so sick of hearing about this asshole.
(Oh, but RIP) |

And also, I can't help but think about the scumbag Asstros players who basically got no punishment whatsoever for blatantly cheating during the World Series. The whole lot of those ****ers should have been banned for life and their championship should have been nullified. It's hard to imagine the endless dumping on Rose (and Jackson) when shit like that is allowed to stand. Is it only cheating if you play to lose? I don't think so. |
Damn they are all passing. RIP baseball hitting sports gambling man.
Hope he gets in the Hall posthumously now. Sent from my SM-G986U1 using Tapatalk |

But there’s a lot of data that points to Pete rose making lineup and pitching decisions based on if he bet on the game or not. Maybe you save up your best bullpen arms even if you’re winning. And maybe you destroy a pitcher like Mario sotos pitching career by throwing his arm out so you can make money. Maybe you put yourself in the lineup to make sure you break the hits record. There’s a lot of sketchiness in how he managed the team |
