Not at all surprising when you consider Andy’s history.
Mahomes was getting ahnihilated in SB55 bc of backup tackles at both spots and Andy rarely at all helped those guys despite watching his QB run for his life every play. |
Costing only $2M

He’s 6’8” 365 and nimble. Our offense would be elite if we swapped him with Wanya. |
Probably thinking of Lane Johnson.

They were hoping he would rise to the level of competition and work to keep the spot. They over estimated his ability to win on straight traits when he’s WAYYY behind in footwork and upper body effectiveness.
Lots of film to work through and coach from. |

His weakness in college was the double moves. When DL can get his hands down, they are able to shake him using leverage and transition from power to speed. He’s going to need to improve a great deal in his lower and upper body technique, but I do think he can get there. His technique is sooo bad that I’m shocked they didn’t redshirt him this year. |

Seth Keysor broke down the protection and this is what he saw https://open.substack.com/pub/mnchie...droid&r=13eurr "All right, let's talk numbers. In 11 pass plays (again, prior to the final drive) where the Chiefs faced pressure, here's how I divvied up "blame." Mahomes - 3 plays Trey Smith - 2 plays Trey and Creed Humphrey - 1 play Trey and Jawaan Taylor -1 play Receivers covered - 2 plays Wanya Morris and WR's -1 Unknown -1 (This was a play where the world, including me, blamed Carson Steele for INSTANT pressure, but former Chiefs' All-Pro RT Mitch Schwartz has stated that's not accurate and that no one was really "wrong" on the play. I don't know what went wrong on this play if it's not a protection failure by Steele, but I obviously believe Mitch)" |
I've watched the bills games 3 times. It was Trey Smith that ****ed us on the line.
Not Morris. |
