Oof. That would be so very enticing but so very expensive. Browns would have to eat some serious cap to do it too.

Even if they'd accept, what salary is Garrett making next year? These edge rushers aren't cheap.

Looks like about 20 mil each of the next two years.

That would actually be a discount for Garrett compared to the going market rate for edge rushers.

Von Miller is making close to that now.

His salary isn't shit, like vet mins the next two years. All his money is tied up in bonuses that Cleveland eats on their cap.

If we could somehow figure out LT, I'd do it. He transforms a defense and for us that DL would be incredible with Jones and Karlaftis.

That's his cap number but most of that is signing bonus and roster bonuses.

I think the unpaid option bonuses would transfer to the new team, so I'm not sure exactly if the team taking him in would have anything on top of the 20 mil each season but i think Cleveland would be on the hook for 36 mil in dead cap this season.

Arizona makes sense.

I doubt an AFC team with a big time QB contract would be interested.

Gary Cooper 02-03-2025 10:27 AM

Garrett needs to be more patient. With any luck, Cleveland can be a contender by 2035.

smithandrew051 02-03-2025 10:27 AM

Nico Harrison would’ve already traded him for Von Miller

Balto 02-03-2025 10:31 AM

Garrett's cap hit to the trading team:
2025: $4.96M
2026: $9.75M

DIRT CHEAP. You give up the picks and bring him in!

Hammock Parties 02-03-2025 10:32 AM

FOURPEAT

Balto 02-03-2025 10:32 AM

Get one of the FA OTs and send two+ first round picks to line up with Jones and go for 4 SBs

I don't think that is right.

So what is dead cap? Any future, unpaid, guaranteed salary or bonus + any already paid signing bonus that hasn't yet been allocated to the salary cap becomes the responsibility of the team in the event of a release. With a trade, the future guarantees would simply transfer to the new team, leaving behind just the unallocated signing bonus cap as the current team's dead cap.

Because his option bonuses for the next two years aren't due until the 5th day of each league year, the team trading for him would assume those bonuses.

He said he wants a Ring not he wants more money. Get this done Reats Batch...

pugsnotdrugs19 02-03-2025 10:36 AM

He battled through a lot of shit this year just to play.

I would worry that the body is starting to break down.
