I heard on the radio out here in Raleigh, that Clinton Portis had sustained a serious injury weightlifting today...
Can anyone else confirm this?!
Zach started it.

My sources in Las Vegas tell me that Champ Bailey has diarrhea and is questionable Sunday.

CBS Sportsline wrote an apology on their site about the screwup.

As someone who has worked in the "internet reporting" field for several years, this is a MAJOR no-no.

I bet some heads rolled after this gaffe happened.

Funny story, apparently the Bears bought the story just like the rest of us and called the Skins to see if they would be willing to trade for A-Train because Portis was out. The Bears even upgrade A-Train to show the Redskins that he was healthy and could help them.

All because someone played a prank on a message board and some CBS Sportsline writer saw it and considered it gospel.

ROFL Wow I didn't realize it had gone that far. That's horrible. Over on a Skins' board I saw that Comcast Philly supposedly reported the "injury" as fact, and so did a D.C. sports talk radio station, although apparently the radio station quickly figured out it was a hoax...

If I heard that Priest had a weight room injury and was out for 8-12 weeks, I would not be able to get it up ever again. The mother****er who came up with that story would have to hide real well, 'cause I'd hunt his ass down, break both of his knees and cut his dick off...

OK, maybe not, but I'd feel really shitty for those couple hours.
