ROFL I think I am a grumpy old hippie now...dammit. Dude, I'm just tired of ignorant saps who feel the world revolves around their tiny little souls and the rest of us have to just "deal with it." BS- if you illuminate the space around me with your constant cell phone use in a theater- expect me to break the thing at your feet. |

Actually, once again I didn't convey out my statement as well as I should have. I'm not referring to people who are on call for work that actually need a phone but the people who think they need to be accessable to everyone in their social circle. Either way, cell phones are still going to be abused. A minor annoyance when it happens ever once in awhile, unfortunatly its the norm for any public area today. It's not a minor annoyance, it's a royal pain in the ass. |
I took the wife to a movie 3 months ago, 1st time in 10 years or close to it.
I didn't think about turning my phone off.... sure enough, the phone rang about 1/2 way into the movie. Funny, I had this feeling people were looking at me ? What's up with that ? ROFL I answered it, it was one on our kids, I quickly told them I would call them back if it wasn't an emergency and turned the phone off. The more I tought about it, we had it on for an emergency call only, the kids lets us down. Many people want there phones on for emergency purposes. Too many times people call to chit chat.... they should be considerate of others and only call if in an emergency. At least take into the fact of where one is and what they are doing before they call. |

A question to all of those that say it needs to be on for emergencies:
Have you ever seen anyone at a movie theatre get a phone call and go RUNNING out of the building? I guess those calls weren't that important then. |

I would like to comment that ususally when they are on "Silent" Sometimes people have them on viabrate and it would mess me up on those hard hard hard Missouri Western tests *sarcasim*

On the flip side...earlier this summer, I remember watching people trying to use their cell phones at a Busch Nascar race while walking alongside the track.
Talk about a one sided conversation...hopefully, they werent getting notified of an injured child or other life or death situation. |
My grandma who raised us grandchildren was getting laid to rest last year when I forgot to turn my cell phone off, the people almost dropped her when a monotone Back DAT Azz up ringtone was ringing, at first i thought they were going to dance. Nope they were pissed
