If I were still driving Demo Derby cars, I'd totally put some spinners on a 76 impalla wagon.

My first attempt at driving was when my older brother gave me his Pinto. I was excited as hell. It was a beat-up car, but that didn't matter- it was still freedom. I was only like 15 at the time and had no license, but that didn't stop me from calling up my best friend at the time and we took the POS Pinto out onto Antioch Road.
We were going up a hill when the Pinto wouldn't make it. All of a sudden the Pinto is going backwards toward oncoming traffic as my buddy and I started screaming like a couple of teenage girls in a bad horror film. We were nothing more than a big gas tank reading to explode upon impact as the Pinto picked up speed going downhill backwards as my buddy lunged out the passenger window waving everyone behind us to get out of the way. Luckily we didn't hit anyone and I just returned my brother's car back to the house and never got into that POS ever again. I think he sold it for scraps. |

Man it seems like a long time since I have steamed up the windows in the ride. Eating a Quizno's sub does not count. |

If you drive anything like you type I'm scared to death. As a matter of fact, just consider all of the dumbasses on this board that probably have licenses. That's it, I'm staying home. |
OK, I'm happy and scared to death, need I say anymore ?

Congrats! :thumb:

I failed my first one too. I couldn't get the car started. The crank kept slipping.

I'll never forget during Driver's Ed class- I was riding in the back while the instructor was sitting in front with this other classmate driving. We were on Metcalf and traffic was good and plenty. He comes to an intersection and as soon as he reaches the intersection, the light turns yellow. So, the kid stops the car partly out in the intersection. The instructor says to him without looking, "You're already in the intersection, it's okay to go."
So, the kid proceeds to drive, which is now too late. We're in the middle of the intersection and all these cars are trying to move when the instructor yells, "NO! Go back!" So, the poor kid reverses it only to see a car had pulled up to the crosswalk and he really had nowhere to go, but sit in the middle of the intersection. The whole time I'm cracking up in the backseat.... |
