Buck 2-3????? We are improving already without Tony.
Ok I know it was a cheap shot but still.....

Eleazar 05-12-2005 09:44 PM

Shopping at the gap... Buck scores... RBI double for Teahen.

Teahen's bat is starting to come around, I like what i see from him.

petegz28 05-12-2005 09:44 PM

VonneMarie 05-12-2005 09:44 PM

Royals lead 6-5 thanks to Tehean!

Ok, call the game now. :)

Eleazar 05-12-2005 09:45 PM

RBI single by Gotay, Teahen scores. Where the hell did this offense come from!

Now, we pray for rain :grovel:

The line would read

WP - Lima
LP - Kazmir
S - God

VonneMarie 05-12-2005 09:45 PM

7-5 KC!!!

Call the game, call the game!

tk13 05-12-2005 09:45 PM

I will say I like Tehan's arm...good and strong. After watching Graffanina and McEwing at 3rd so much you can really tell the difference. Has an arm at 3rd like Crede.

tk13 05-12-2005 09:46 PM

Woo Gotay! Offensive mastermind Bob Schaefer strikes again!

beer bacon 05-12-2005 09:48 PM

**** you Buck. You have done nothing but drag down my on base percentage and give me five strikeouts a week this whole season. As soon as you are dropped you suddenly become on fire. What a world. What a world.

VonneMarie 05-12-2005 09:49 PM

They really need to call this game.

chiefqueen 05-12-2005 09:50 PM

Sorry for the dead space guys, I tried to paste a radar image and (obviously) failed miserably.

petegz28 05-12-2005 09:51 PM

Here comes the rain!!!!

I like his plate presence and mechanics. If he can hit ~.280, 15-20 HR's and drive in 75+ per year, that would be the fix I'm looking for at 3b. I already like what I've seen defensively.......

What if someone was posting in the Chiefs theads and always writing "Priest Homes"?

Doesn't look like a power hitter, but if his BA keeps coming up he could be a good 2 hitter or something like that. Need to get some more plate discipline and keep shooting the gaps.

For all of you Baird bashers out there, the reason this team sucks is not Allard, but go back to when this team did not have an owner. The minors were gutted to try to keep a respectable team on the field (by signing 3rd tier FA's) while they tried to find an owner. They only had so much money left to them by EK's trust and they had to try to stretch it.

They consistantly drafted "signable" picks, but not the top tier people. Player development was non-existant, no help from the minors. FWIW, the emphasis on the minors has only been for the last 3 years so it will be another 2 years before that bears fruit.

Has Allard made questionable deals, YES, but when you trade for someone elses player how do you know what you are getting. The Braves have the right idea, draft, sign, and develop you own players and fill in with the occasional FA.

BTW, if a person can get an obscene amount of money working for someone else, can you blame him for leaving?

Actually it was a typo. I have been watching Sweeney for quite some time, since he was a catcher. All in good fun, I was hurrying that post because I was leaving the office. But I would disagree with you that he is the best player in a decade. He has done very well when not injured, but Beltran was clearly the best position player IMO. :)

15-20 HR's/yr is hardly power, IMO. He's got the swing of a guy that can drive the ball. If he can get enough plate appearances, 15HR's would be nothing for him. He really just needs a little bit better plate discipline, and that should come with more AB's.

Well said.

I don't know how anyone can say blame Baird for the reason this team sucks, he is doing everything in his power to try and make this team respectable, and doing it the right way. How can anybody fault the guy after he basically stole Justin Huber, Denny Bautista, Leo Nunez, and Andy Sisco in less then a year?

Eleazar 05-13-2005 10:03 AM

I will also add that in the pre-Baird era draft picks were made based on 'signability'. Baird came in and put an end to that.

KCTitus 05-13-2005 10:35 AM

The whole franchise is in trouble and a lot of it is systemic...heck not even Carl Peterson could fill the seats for the Royals games with mediocre product.
