Do any female singers get your motor running? I'd imagine some common country singers, but perhaps you'll surprise me. |

For purposes of female singers from the 1970's staying slender....yes. Beyond that, I neither know nor do I care. |

Does not hurt that she is as cute as can be and has that Britt accent. Love the song that blends her with some Santana guitar licks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfbjpgrys2k Here you go Joss Stone and Debbie Harry at the same time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih2SsmaLwg4 |

I'm just going to do a sample list of some of my favorite female vocalists.
Sinead O' Connor - I love the Irish lilt. Hope Sandoval - Hazy, dreamy lil' pixie Loretta Lynn - The 1st Lady of Country & a voice that ages like a smooth bourbon...'nuff said Natalie Merchant - Her voice is pure butta Dolores O' Riordan - See #1 Annie Lennox - Haunting and just plain cool Sade - As mysterious & elusive as a panther. The vocal equivelant of silk Enya - Dreamtime Patsy Cline - "Blue" NEVER gets old to me Aretha Franklin - Who can belt'em like her, she has my RESPECT Sheryl Crow - "My Favorite Mistake" NEVER fails to give me the chills. She's the PERFECT Eagles-like mix of rock & country Stevie Nicks - Gold Dust Woman & Landslide...'nuff said |

BTW Dolores O' Riordan (the Cranberries) should never have cut off her hair and sinead-ified. |

When I saw that QockSlurper had responded to this thread, I was certain he was going to tell us that Eartha Kitt excited him sexually since sh play 'Cat'woman on the old Batman TV series.

I really just meant it in a general way, my understanding is that there is more shared ancestry than not between the two. |
I think it's cool when people know their lineage. I believe I'm English, for the most part. My mother's maiden name is Petre and my last name is Endicott. Both English from what I've gathered. I've tried tracing back the Endicott name. I believe my great great great.....etc grandfather was John C. Endicott. SOme governor of New York.
Anyway, what does this have to do with female vocalists? And do you mean that their voice turns you on, or their looks? Or both? |
Quote:
All of the above I would assume. |

Yep. It shows you exactly what is so bad about having a national church. True. They have a rich and lengthy history, often intermingled. I see them as two distinct cultures even through all of those ties. My mother's family officially moved from Scotland to Ireland and intermarried after a time. I don't know why they moved to Scotland. Records weren't kept. |

We hope to have Hazel play a few traditional songs and lead us in a very traditional version of Bobby Burns’s song. The Scotch will be flowing the pipes will be playing and we plan to have a very good time for this first footing event. |
