I really want us to draft Okoye or Adam Carriker in the 1st round.
This might just be an infatuation, but I am getting really high on Carriker. I think he could actually give us an interior pass rush, and he wouldn't be a weakness against the run either. He seems like a bigger version of Tamba or JA: very hight motor, but also a lot of athleticism. With JA, Tamba, and Carriker all starting I think we would have three d-linemen that are all consistent, high-effort, 50+ tackles, 10+ sack potential guys. OK, maybe not 10+ sack potential for Carriker playing inside, but I think he would do a good job of getting a push on passing downs. JA and Hali would have both had 10+ sacks this season if our DTs had any ability to crash the pocket constantly. |

Nebraska defensive end Adam Carriker has probably been the most impressive defensive lineman in Mobile this week, though Louisville's Amobi Okoye isn't far behind. North Carolina State's Tank Tyler, Ohio State's Quinn Pitcock and Michigan's Lamarr Woodley will likely be high picks as well. |
What's somewhat depressing is the Buffalo Bills have almost the same exact needs as KC and they pick before KC.
Here is a tidbit from their website: SENIOR BOWL THOUGHTS: It was disappointing to see that Cal CB Daymeion Hughes is not going to play Saturday due to a back injury suffered in practice Wednesday. He's described as a 'cover 2' corner with great hands and cover skills. He doesn't have top end speed, but thoughts on that could change at the combine. I just wanted to get a good look at him after not seeing much of Cal this past fall. DT Amobi Okoye is dominating down in Mobile this week, but unfortunately he's not nose tackle material after weighing in at 287 Monday. He was listed as 317 prior to Senior Bowl week so I was hopefuly he'd be an option for the Bills with the 12th pick, but I just don't see it now. Cal's Brandon Mebane however, has had a nice week on the interior and has pushed the pocket. Again I want to see more of him on Saturday, but the early signs are encouraging. I guess when it comes right down to it, I'm still wishing the Bills had Haloti Ngata, the Oregon DT who went to Baltimore. I really like Donte Whitner as a player, but man I would've liked to see Ngata clogging up the middle for Buffalo. I was hoping that LSU's Dwayne Bowe would be available to the Bills in Round 2 as Buffalo needs a big wideout opposite Lee Evans to take some of the heat off him. But with the week he's having in Mobile he's likely vaulted himself into the middle third of the first round. ILB Patrick Willis from Ole Miss has been having a heck of a week according to reports. If London Fletcher isn't re-signed Willis might be the best option at inside backer in the draft. Speaking of Fletcher, the more I look at Florida State ILB Buster Davis, the more I'm convinced he's a long lost cousin of Fletcher. He's built the same way (5'9" 240), he overachieves like Fletcher and he has a high football IQ. |

Claudio :hmmm: |
Take it from someone who lives in Lincoln. We want no part of Adam Carriker.
Is he a good player? Yes but he's perfectly the wrong size. Undersized as a DT and either too big or not fast enough as a DE. His pass rush isn't that great. To me he seems like a young Eric Hicks. |

hey guys..as a 49ers fan i like to say that i hope we get Jarrett first :)

I thought it odd that there's a niner fan in Pennsylvania.
|
haha..i actually came because i was referred by a chiefs fan...i came in to piss off the Raiders fans that he said sometimes trot by here. :P I mean come on!! I love the 49ers but how the hell can the 49ers have better records then some other clubs out there?
and yes it is very odd about being a 49ers fan. I infact was an eagles fan in the early 90's when i was really young..but the reason why is becuase i'm left handed and Steve Young is my idol. :) |

but yeppers..now there's 2 people i know from here from another site..one is a chief fan while the other is a Raider fan..i forget who showed me the site.. *checks out who did* i actually screwed up with my original statement..it was the Raider fan who showed me. His name on here is Over-head i originally came to see a picture of his first child that was just recently born. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...1&page=3&pp=15 after i saw the little one i figured i'd poke around for a bit :) Us 49er fans apparently poke around during the offseason..see that..chief fans are shit flippers and 49er fans are pokers. It's practically a match made in heaven! |

I guess I should say the same for you guys :P but I do like you chief guys a little bit..I mean hell you guys got Larry Johnson! you guys did something right :) I honestly think you guys are doing a better job then 49er personnel. The last couple of years my 49ers been making better decisions but I think we'll pay for the Bryant signing..that was a waste of money. And I still have no Faith in Alex Smith..I think we would've been better off with Aaron Rodgers..not like either one of them would be great. I hope we draft Jarrett then get a boatload of Defensive Help. |
My dream picks are in order:
Dwayne Jarrett Amobi Okoye Levi Brown Patrick Willis Get one of those 4 players and we will start out with a fine 1st round. |
Milkman, you are right female spanish words end in an "a" and male words end in an "o" not in every single case but most. So he should of said No hablo, for it to be the male form.
|
I have decided Willis is my dream 1st rounder. The thought of him and DJ at LB has me excited.

Hablar is a verb. I speak = Yo hablo. You speak = Tu hablas. He/she/it speaks = el/ella/Usted HABLA. I don't speak much Spanish, but I know this to be true. |

I'll tell you this: 2008 is when I really started to follow the draft closely. Looking at that list, it definitely shows. |
Any NT that can actually play the position ....

LMAO I love this thread. Wow... It would have been nice to have Adrian Peterson in 07 considering what LJ ended up being.

Here's the book on Hamas: He has great grammar...vast knowledge of the English language...an extensive vocabulary... Other than that... He doesn't know shit. ESPECIALLY regarding the NFL Draft.... So everytime you see him get upset about a pick that is made...don't put any stock into it... The problem with this board is they mistake all of that great grammar with him actually knowing what the **** he is talking about... He doesn't. |
at this point...
Hamas/OTWP/Mecca...they have ONE agenda...Anti-Pioli... That's it. That's why you saw Dane did what he did...he liked the draft, and he was ok with giving Pioli props for it even though he spent all of last year being pissed off about 2009...because he TRULY hated 2009...and that's ok...but he didn't have some sort of agenda he was trying to push on the board like Hamas and OTWP...those guys just want to bitch. Mecca? He has always been anti anything Chiefs so that's expected... The Hamas and OTWP Pioli shit is just laughable now...that UDFA thread was hilarious...when Hamas was having a shit fit about us not picking up certain guys WHO WEREN'T DRAFTED and telling everyone he was done. Ok then buddy...be done... |

Wow, there were some very nice observations in this thread (Chiefnj2, Suds79) and some very, very poor suggestions.
I don't know how anyone besides AlDavis couldn't see that Russell was a bust-in-waiting. |

Yeah, you're right. He didn't turn that thread into a crybaby bitch fest like every other thread he enters regarding the Chiefs... Go read the draft thread starting on day 2... Him and Mecca are hilarious... Mecca is always great though... Guessing pick to pick...never getting one right. |

I don't see me saying much in this thread, but I think I was on the Alan Branch wagon in 2010. Shows what I know.
I don't remember having any particular problem with Bowe when they made the pick, though. And still don't. I think he could have a big year in 2010. |

Frankly I believe I was wrong and if Bowe had Brees throwing to him he'd look quite a bit better than Meachem. |

Schefter came on after the Eagles traded up and was like..."that's it guys! The Eagles have traded up for Earl Thomas!" and then they take Brandon Graham... It's just funny watching some of you talk in absolutes when nothing on draft day is an absolute. |
It's too bad there isn't a methadone version of me so that Hootie could kick his habit.

I don't remember who I was pining for in this draft. I think it was Okoye, who hasn't lived up to his billing so far. Later on, in the great Staley vs Bowe debates, I definitely wanted Bowe.
