Round 7........

Halfcan 05-05-2007 10:03 PM

Oscar needs to use his left hook

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:05 PM

DLH lights FM up in beginning of round. 2nd half of round Mayweather hammers DLH body. ODH wins that round. IMO

chagrin 05-05-2007 10:06 PM

what would "save boxing" is a knockout

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:06 PM

Start of round 8....... 67/ 68 Mayweather IMHO.

stlchiefs 05-05-2007 10:06 PM

so, Oscar still has a chance here. Showing some life.

Halfcan 05-05-2007 10:08 PM

come on Oscar

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:10 PM

DLH corners in first part of round and drills him, crown chans Oscar. 2nd half about even. Fight now Even.

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:10 PM

Round 9

stlchiefs 05-05-2007 10:11 PM

Sounds like Oscar needs to keep him in the corner and he can win this thing.

Mr. Flopnuts 05-05-2007 10:11 PM

ESPN is reporting Mayweather won round 8.

Jim Jones 05-05-2007 10:11 PM

DLH won round 8.. I have him winning the fight right now.

It's REALLY close though.. I expect it may end in a draw if it continues this way.

Halfcan 05-05-2007 10:12 PM

come on Golden boy

A draw? Man that would look terrible for boxing. Nobody wants to see a draw.

This reminds me of the 1930's when we all stood around the outside of the appliance store listening to the fight on the radio.

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:13 PM

Mayweather moving morethis round taking his shots. DLH cornered him in middle of round and hit him. End of round about even. Round to Mayweather IMO.

Round 10

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:15 PM

IMHO Mayweather up by two rounds.

stlchiefs 05-05-2007 10:15 PM

I wish I could listen to it on the radio and get some play by play (nothing against your calls Bwana)

Jim Jones 05-05-2007 10:16 PM

i have DLH up 5-4

Yep, PPV has ruined boxing.

Mosbonian 05-05-2007 10:17 PM

Bwana:

If this fight is close do you think they will award it to DLH because everyone hastes Mayweather so much?

chagrin 05-05-2007 10:17 PM

I'm just curious, do you guys want to see a knock out or a 12 round decision?

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:18 PM

Round 10 was Mayweathe on pure speed, which means DLH may need a knockout to pull it out.

stlchiefs 05-05-2007 10:18 PM

KO, I want brain damage. :)

I would've gone out to the bar and watched it with some friends, but instead I'm home studying for my next final.

As much as Mayweather talked BS, he needs to really dominate Oscar...

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:21 PM

DLH slowing WAY down in that round. IMO ODH needs a KO to win this fight in round 12.

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:22 PM

Round 12......

dirk digler 05-05-2007 10:22 PM

ESPN is showing DLH only winning 3 rounds

He is in trouble

stlchiefs 05-05-2007 10:22 PM

what are the odds of that Bwana? Can ODH land a KO?

chagrin 05-05-2007 10:23 PM

another 12 round snoozer, it sounds like - I agree with HolmeZz, I prefer a KO which happens almost never anymore on these big events

First part of 12, DLH comes out strong. Mid round Mayweather lights him up, looks much faster. DLH looks
tired. Crowd chanting Oscar. End of round DLH looked good. Not good enough IMHO. Waiting for the call........

Online it is showing after I counted

102 - DLH

107 - Floyd

HolmeZz 05-05-2007 10:27 PM

Considering there's been 11 rounds so far, it can't be a two round differential. It's either 6-5 or 7-4 or 8-3.

Bwana 05-05-2007 10:28 PM

The winner is................................................................................... Mayweather. SPLIT

Mayweather won the fight, one judge was on crack. The one judge is why boxing has become a complete joke. Crowd chanting BULLSHIT.. The crowd is smoking crack.

On a side note , Mayweather sounds like a a complete punk in the post fight interview. Save your money Floyd or you will be on the night shift at the 7-11.

That's bullshit. This fight was REALLY close. The boxing forum I'm reading, half had DLH and half had Mayweather. It could have easily been a draw.

Get ready to shell out another $55 because there will be a re-match.

Wow....that will cause some talk. Mayweather was confident he could put Oscar down bigtime, and DLH was confident that he could land the big one on Floyd.

Neither did what they were boasting they were going to do.

HolmeZz 05-05-2007 10:35 PM

Everything I've heard gives me the impression Mayweather won the fight fairly comfortably and that a split decision was extremely generous to Oscar. Maybe that was one judge trying to create a rematch.

this fight was supposed to save it, but it was just another controversial decision. sounds like a good fight though.

too bad boxing has gone the way of figure skating. any event where the winner is determined by judges isn't a sport, its a fucking joke

This fight wasn't gonna save boxing.. this was the last big fight in boxing(well, barring a likely rematch). After this Boxing is pretty much ****ed.

The only controversy I see is that it wasn't a unanimous decision. The right fighter won.

kcxiv 05-05-2007 10:48 PM

IT was close, Meyweather just punch and runs. I could say he won. It honestly wasnt to entertaining to watch. Floyd's running style is boring.

kcxiv 05-05-2007 10:49 PM

The fight was pretty close, the reason it was, is becuase OScar pressed the fight. LIke he said, if he didnt press, there would be no fight. Again like i said,Floyd is good at running.

Problem is that boxing screwed up the decision, so that just puts another nail in the coffin for the validity of boxing.

Bwana 05-05-2007 11:02 PM

I agree, It wasn't one of the all time greats to say the least. I did my best to give everyone a no bullshit look at the fight in spite of who I wanted to win. I have spent a lot of years fighting in and judging MMA and boxing is very close in the judging department. Mayweather won the fight, the judge that called it for ODH was either drunk, or getting paid off.........seriously. Stevie Wonder wouldn't have called that a ODH win and I waned him to win.

Bottom line, not a great fight but the guy that should have won, did indeed win the fight.

On a side note, this will likely be the last boxing match I ever pay for and if my hard earned money is going to go to Direct TV, I will be to watching MMA.

kcxiv 05-05-2007 11:10 PM

True and if it were a hand grenade throwing contest close would mean something, but it was a boxing contest, hence, there can be only one winner.

Well duh, thats why i said i agree with the judges on it. Oscar did alot better then i thought he would. I didnt think he could hang in there at 34 years old. Oscar is a slugger, and Meyweather is a runner. It happens. It was a decent fight though. And i ate alot of carne asada. So in all, a good day.

This will probably sound disgusting to most, it even grossed me out the first time I found out about it. There's an authentic Mexiria down the street from me that makes the best steak burritos on the face of the Earth. I found out the reason why is they grill it on the same grill they do their brains, hearts, etc. on. Gives it extra flavor.
