Since when does Soriano have a throwing arm?

Jewish Rabbi 08-08-2008 01:49 PM

The Cardinals have no one to blame but themselves if they lose...No way should Soriano have thrown Mather out that badly.

I use to fall asleep when I was a young whippersnapper listening to Harry Carey and Jack Buck broadcast the Cardinal games on KMOX.

Was there ever any truth to the rumor that Harry Carey had an affair with a Bush wife and thats why he was sent packing?

I really don't know what was going on... Soriano was only a few feet from the track and Mather was out by a few feet... Wasn't close at all.

You're dumb.

He played LF for the Nationals...he was a huge bitch about it at first...claiming he wouldn't play for the Nationals if he had to play LF...but he did, and he sucked at it, but he lead the league in outfield assists that year and became the first 40-40-20 player in MLB history.

I never heard about the affair, but he amde some critical comments about the Busch family on-air. He never had a good relationship with them, and if there really was an affair, then that would make sense.

BigRedChief 08-08-2008 02:01 PM

Have you all gone mad?

That's what I just ****ing said.

I never said he didn't play 2nd base...I know he played 2nd base...I know he played 2nd base for the Yankees...

Shit, I even know he played SS in the minor leagues before moving to 2nd base because of Derek Jeter....

I know he played 2nd base in Texas...

Hamas tried telling me he played 2nd base in Washington.

He didn't. He played LF. He was awful in LF...

But he does, and always has, had an excellent arm from the OF, which is evidenced by the fact he had 22 OF assists in 2006, which led the team that year by a whopping 19 over now Royal Jose Guillen...and also led all of the major leagues...

Most 2nd baseman in ****ing high school have weak throwing arms...but not in the big leagues...moron. Sure, not everyone throws as hard as Shawon Dunston at 2nd base...but you have to have a strong arm to play 2nd base in the majors...

And I said he lead the league in outfield assists in 2006 with the Nationals, and you said that was interesting seeing how he played 2nd base.

You are the king of being wrong and trying to turn it around on someone else...you are so full of shit it's hilarious. You should change your name to 'pseudo intellectual', it would be very fitting.

This isn't high school baseball...

Craig Biggio...a catcher, a 2nd baseman, a center fielder...strong arm.

Mark DeRosa...strong arm.
Mark Grudzielanek...strong arm.
Chase Utley...strong arm.
Jeff Kent...strong arm.
Dan Uggla...strong arm.

Lets name some 2nd baseman with weak arms? Much tougher, I know...

And I'm sorry you had to deal with that pussy ass David Eckstein at shortstop who can't even throw the ball sidearm for a few years...

You aren't this stupid, man. Hate to point it out to you, but the guy with the weakest arms on your team will almost always be the right side of the infield.

Furthermore, he played second for 4 years and left for 2 1/2 because he was Ryan Braun'ed out there.

Soriano was a shortstop before he was a 2nd baseman...captain Derek Jeter was in his way...

And, Michael Young played 2nd base until he moved to SS to make way for Soriano...

In high school, yes, 2nd baseman typically have weak arms...not in the pros.

Most 2nd baseman in the majors, especially younger 2nd baseman, were SS with strong arms before having to move to 2nd base because the veteran star player is already there...

Most teams have established SS already...and 2nd base is an easy transition.

You're simply a fool if you think 90% of major league second baseman couldn't transition to LF, like Soriano, and put up huge assist numbers...

Turning a double play from 2nd base requires much more arm strength than at shortstop...****stick.

Lets see you turn a major league double play from 2nd base...

THIS ISN'T HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL...

You don't hide weak arms at 2nd base...you typically hide them at 1st base or LF...in fact, you hide your weak fielders, generally, at 1st base or LF, hence the reason Soriano plays left and not center...

Compared to majors leaguers? fuck no. Generally, your catcher, SS, 3B, and right fielder have the strongest throwing arms.

Hahahahaha.

When did I say MLB 2nd baseman have stronger arms than SS?

He said he could throw the ball 30 feet, too...I said I doubt he could turn a big league double play from 2nd base...

I know AROD has a stronger arm than fucking Rickie Weeks.

What does A-Rod have to do with Soriano being a shit defender? And for the record, A-Rod plays third base, not shortstop...

Your best hitters go in left and 1st because most of the time they can't field worth a shit

So you are supposed to read between the lines of what I post, but not what you post?

Ok.

everyone knows ARod is a better SS than Jeter...

For real, you guys are ****ing idiots.

I said, right away, Soriano sucks in LF but has a great arm, accurate and strong.

First post I made...

You were making a dumbass comparison of the arm strength needed by a 2nd baseman to turn a DP, when a SS is always making longer throws, many times across their own body and from a greater distance away.

And everyone knows that for the first four years of his career Soriano played 2nd, but like a fucking guido, you felt the need to try and prove how macho you were, and subsequently, made an ass out of yourself yet again.

Hootie 08-08-2008 02:34 PM

and when I made a reference to Shawon, I said not every 2nd baseman can throw it 105 MPH, I know that...

I'd say 80% of MLB 2nd baseman started out in the minors as shortstops...and I'd say 90% of MLB 2nd baseman have stronger arms than their teams starting LF...

I'm done arguing with this guy, and I'm embarrassed that we have such ignorant people as Chiefs fans.

man that McCellean is going to be a great addition to the team.

Hootie, why does it seem like you always have a few posters pile on to you about your comments?

Don't you ever wonder who the common denominator is?

And maybe you have a problem with people?

No, I was simply saying not every throw a 2nd baseman makes is a 30 foot lob to the 1st baseman...a lot of them, most of them even, take serious arm strength, including double plays and backhands in the hole.
