That's easier said than done. IMO anything you do short of going to the source only strengthens their resolve. Remember, these guys are wackos who think God is reserving a place for them up there in his court for doing crap like this, so they pretty much welcome death. The Mayor just reported that all of these closings have been voluntary and at the discretion of the corporations. The school districts have not closed, but have given the parents the option to pick up their children.

The Governor just reported that there is no threat as of this time to Texas. Texans should continue with their normal schedule.

One Boeing 747 was flown along the highway reportedly for 8 minutes, assumedly to avoid radar, then climbed back up in altitude to cause the second impoact on the other world trade tower.


It has also been reported that this means that American pilots were not in in control of the plane. American pilots are instructed to sacrifice themselves if thier plane is trying to be used to as an offensive weapon against military or civilian targets.

These were pilots from another country. This was a well planned, well orchestrated attack.


This does not seem like a group of a few thousand idiots, this is a planned military offensive...

Just to be clear, while I disagree we should start a war at this point, I totally agree, countries who harbor or support terrorists like this need to be held accountable. For example, if we find out that Iran provided funding for this group or something like that, then they do become the enemy, they do need to answer for that, and they better be willing to point out who it was. I don't think bombing them or another country solves the problem,
but obviously, something would need to be done...

Arrafat came on a news conference, scared out of his mind, and did everything but beg us not to whipe him off the planet.

My sense is, you do that, and if you don't get them in the process, then you're just justifying what they've done in their minds. Remember, these terrorists are for the most part wackos with an ignorant, skewed outlook on the world. I mean, if they feel this is a holy war and they are destined to stand at the side of God when it is all over, no price is going to be too high for them. Seeing their fellow countrymen dead or things like that aren't going to sway these guys, it'll just push them to do more. These are people who are flying planes into our buildings or strapping bombs onto themselves and blowing themselves up or attacking our naval vessels with no fear of death. If it comes down to Armageddon, us killing them and them killing us, if they have the belief that in death they are martyrs, they have no fear of death...
