I mean no offense against that fine city at all, and it may be nirvana to some people, but if I had your options I'd pick someplace really nice to live and buy NFL Sunday Ticket. Laguna Beach, Hawaii, Telluride, Santa Fe, wherever. There are some pretty nice places to live in the U.S., and (again, no offense) I don't think Kansas City is at the top of the standard list.

Other factors fall into place for me.

1.) The chiropractic college that I am attending is there.
2.) Near a military base so my wife can continue working for DoD.
3.) My family is up the road in Sodak.
4.) I prefer country life, wife prefers city...seemed like an ok mix.
5.) And...as mentioned, a nice short drive to Arrowhead.

And after I start getting called Dr. Mikemaslowski I can always move to paradise....

Well....okay. Permission granted.

Hey let us know when your wife gets here in June '10... all of us KC guys can keep her "company" until you get here in Nov '10.... then we will keep her company when you are at school.

Thanks!

No.

No room in Denver. Nothing here. Sorry. It's closed.

Welcome to Kansas, home of the Jayhawks. They are the 2008 National Basketball champions. I don't think Denver has any basketball teams.

3. Is it a nice place to live or should I say **** it and go back to South Dakota?

Look forward to all of your insights....

*****Edit*****

Ok, I've made the decision to move to the Kansas City, Kansas area. My wife will arrive there in June '10 and I will be there in November '10. I will be attending Cleveland Chiropractic College and my wife will be working on Ft. Leavenworth for the base Morale Welfare and Recreation department. I need to purchase a place happily in the middle of the two by taking I70(unless you guys know a quicker way). The cities that I see on the map that fit that description are, Lansing, Bonner Springs, Fairmont, Wallula and Basehor with a few others. Are those ok areas? Are there better places around that with traffic reduces travel times? Im trying to keep my wifes travel time down to a max of 30 minutes and mine to 45. (Oh yeah, we have two children 9 and 7 so the schools are important as well.

And yes, I am moving to Kansas City to be close to the Chiefs. I do not know anyone who lives there and have only been there a few times. Fortunately, I can also make a bunch of other things fall into place. The new GI Bill is going to allow me to go to school and pay for my house. Anyway, the wife wants me to bbq some ribs now so who am I to argue.

I appreciate any advice and look forward to becoming a local:D

>>>>>edit<<<<<<again...

Well, the Army moved me back home and I decided to work it out with my wife. The four places in KC that I found with the top 10 percent of public schools within my possible living areas are:

Shawnee
Lawrence
Olathe
and Overland Park

What are your opinions of these areas... I know OP has a pretty good rep.

I hear the weather is great in Olathe.

Move to Olathe.
Just don't put a light in you back yard or Pete will kill you.

San Diego. Perfect weather, everything you could want to do and there are like 16 military installations in the county that youre wife could work at. Plus its an AFC west city as Rainmain stated. Plus UCSD is one of the top rated schools for medical in the country. IIRC it was like number 3.
