Fitz was at another level coming out of Pitt than Crabtree is right now coming out of Tech. Mecca is exactly right, this comparison is ridiculous and needs to stop. Crabtree is getting hype because he's coming out of an offense that heavily inflates offensive stats; if Crabtree played at a program like Pitt, no one would be talking about him as a top 5 pick.
Fitz had amazing ball skills and body control coming out of school, and was an extremely crisp route runner. The only knock on him was timed straight-away speed, and anyone that actually watched him play could see that wasn't a legit concern. On the other hand, Crabtree has spent the past two years primarily running bubble screens and slants, and is going to have to spend some time perfecting pro routes.
I don't want to knock the kid, as he is a solid WR prospect, but he's nowhere near the prospect Fitz was coming out of school.
