THIS. ABSOLUTELY, 100% THIS.

I'll never understand the level of hatred some of the idiot ass Royals fans have towards the Cardinals. These two teams have played ONE truly meaningful series, it was over 20 years ago, and the Royals won. Other than that, this is just another team that they play six times out of a 162 game schedule.

If we were in the same division I would hate the Cardinals much more than any other team in the league. But since we aren't it is nice to beat them but we have bigger fish to fry. If there were ever another I-70 series ESPN would absolutely shut down their baseball coverage, they might cover it via telephone with local guys like Greg Shaum and Soren Petro and over in St Louis with guys like Bob Fesko <sp>.

I agree if the Royals has moved to the NL instead of the brewers. What a mistake on the Royals part. A "real" rivialry could have developed with the Cards, Cubbies come to town alot. A missed oppertunity.

It goes both ways, dude.

I have no ill will toward the Cards or their fans, but it's the whole "we're the best baseball town in the country" thing that rubs many wrong. STL arrogance, if you will.

Combine that with much '85 butthurt that still persists, and you have a recipe for annoyance.

In Division re-alignment....
The Royals had 1st chance to be in NL Central............. but no (why not play Midwest teams. Cincy, Chicago Cubs, Houston, Pittsburgh)

instead we got Brewers.

Rivalry might have met something instead of 6 games. We can tryout our AAA pitchers against.

AAA? ROFL

Are you disappointed that KC will take the season series again this year?

Manny covers the plate better than Albert. Manny's the best bad-ball hitter I've ever seen and likely the best I ever will. He doesn't have the focus Albert has, but Manny is a more talented hitter. Albert's better at keeping an inside fastball fair down the LF line, but Manny can take any ball within 8 inches of the zone in any direction and hit it hard. His lack of preparation will lead to him taking some akward swings and getting off balance(which Pujols never does), but I've seen him put a ball 425 feet while swinging off his front foot with one arm. Manny is possibly the most talented RH hitter of all time.
Yea, I kind of spoke quickly there. Didn't really acknowledge Manny at all there. Certainly wasn't meant as a slight.

Just for clarification are refering to how KU fans react when MU beats them, or are you implying that since the Royals are in KC, MO that their fans are also KU fans? Busch is closer to IL than the K is to KS.

You want to talk about arrogance - try Cub fans. You'd have to be on social security to remember the last time those pricks LOST a World Series, yet they're the greatest ****ing team on earth, every year. Just ask their stupid ass fans. I'm surrounded by that every day up here. At least the Cardinals can back up their arrogance. When it comes to the Royals, I'd be thrilled if they enjoyed the same level success St. Louis has. I wish all of my MISSOURI teams well (except the Rams - **** them).

Really?

I've only been around casual, out of town Cubs fans, so I didn't know this.

I just assumed when you total over 100 years of suck, you'd be a bit more humble.

Since the death of Mr. K, it's not really worth even putting the Royals in the same breath as the Cards. Luckily, it looks like this is changing. Like you, though, I generally wish good things upon all of the "local" guys.

I dare not speculate on how intolerable Cubs fans would be if they ever actually won anything.

If they get too far out of line, I just do my favorite Ron Santo impression and hop out of the room on one leg. (Wilford Brimley does not find this funny)

Here's a thought - maybe if you didn't act like your team just won the World Series if KC takes two ot of three from St. Louis in the middle of June, they'd be bit nicer to you. Seriously. If you're a fraction as annoying to Cards fans in person as you are here, then you've bought and paid for all the abuse you get.

Really looking back over most threads you will find Cards fans the first to talk shit on the Royals.. Of course if you were half as smart as you believed, you would have realized this.. But then you're bat shit fanatical about all of your sports teams just like when Kansas destroys Missouri and you get butthurt..

You are literally a fanatic..

You are literally a reerun. EVERY Cardinal thread on here starts out with Cardinals fans talking to other Cardinals fans about the Cardinals, and then some whiny jerkoff like you starts squealing about it, envoking Denkenger, and so on. I defy you to find a thread started by a Cards fan denegrading the Royals from the first post. Seriously, good luck with that - you'll sooner find a professional sports team in Kansas.

Do they eventually tire of your bullshit and fight back? Certainly. But stop trying to play the victim here. The eye-poking always originates from that giant ****ing parking lot west of the state line.

Reaper16 03-12-2009 03:06 PM

If posters here on CP (a small-ass sample size) start shit with Cards fans first, its only after suffering years and years of bullshit.

DJ's left nut 03-12-2009 03:12 PM

Y'all get shit for being a lousy team.

You don't get any more or less shit than the Pirates do, they're just not close enough to hear it.

Don't suck and you won't hear from STL fans.

WilliamTheIrish 03-12-2009 03:27 PM

If you start a thread on here regarding any subject, it stands the chance of being whacked by certain folks.

That's life.

Al Bundy 03-13-2009 06:20 AM

I wish the Royals would have moved to the NL Central. But the board of directors that was running the team wasn't really looking towards the future at that time. I don't know if I buy the whole "Best baseball town in America" though. By the way, I work with several White Sux fans and I think they might be the only group of fans that hate the Cubs fans more than 'birds fans.

So if not the Cardinals, then who?

I remember the mid to late 70's. We we sucked really bad, the kind of bad like the Royals have been and we still drew 20K-25K to every game.

My son is a 5th generation Cardinal fan. Our family is not unusual. The roots run deep.
