I'll be shocked if the Chiefs don't bring in a small herd of Olinemen, particularly guards.

Don't forget about our Goff signing. I know he didn't have a great season last year, but his injury didn't help. Hell, even injured he's an upgrade...

I didn't look at the list for him, I should have. Is he actually that good or do people want him just for his being televised.

Bobby Greenwood Scouting Report by B. K. Johnson
Pros: Bobby led the Crimson Tide in sacks his senior season, not bad for a guy that has been move back and forth from 4-3 to 3-4. He has improved his strength since graduation, working out at CES in Atlanta and has a dedication and drive that many NFL teams are looking for in a Defensive End.
Cons: He really did not get the chance this year to show his strong points (rushing the passer), so if he gets a chance, he will make the NFL team that takes him very happy. Remember a guy from Bama named DeMeco Ryan who did not get the credit he deserved until he won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year a few years back.
Overall: Bobby will make some NFL team glad they drafted him.

They picked up about 2-3 times as many players as most of the other teams. They went all year without a third string QB and have a horrible second stringer.

That list is physically painful to look at.

Reaper16 04-26-2009 09:47 PM

You may have noticed if you've been paying as meticulous attention to the UDFAs as I have that Graham Harell was said to have signed with Carolina but was later taken off the signing list. Now, it is said that he is going to try out for, and may sign with, Dallas.

In that there are plenty of players signed with other teams that could help the Chiefs out?

Panthers got a couple guys I liked in Keith Gray (C) and Gerald Cadogan.

How about Chris Baker (DT), Dannell Ellerbe and Brett Helms (C)? Any word on those three yet?

ArrowheadMagic 04-26-2009 10:34 PM

No Ellerbe yet, wonder how many teams are in negotiations. Harrell better start updating his resume, insurance companies are hiring.

Reaper16 04-26-2009 10:36 PM

A locker room divided...

Gijon will easily be the better pro, though, so he'd win.

We should have picked up Jordan Norwood. I think he could end up being a solid player in the NFL one day given the chance.

If so,it isnt his brother. He has an older brother that played basketball for George Mason on their final four team. Gabe.

ArrowheadMagic 04-26-2009 11:38 PM

His dad is the DC at Baylor, former DB coach at Penn St.

We won't pick him either, I'm resigned to the fact that the Chiefs will never take anyone I like, especially if they are from SC.

Mays for his size is actually really really good in coverage and very fast. Bernard Pollards head would probably explode if he saw that.

Had he not lowered his head it would of been a legal hit. Great player against the run. Still think he has some questions in coverage. Be interesting to see how SC uses him this year. Obviously the defense wont be as good. Want to see more man coverage out of him. But still a top 10 guy next year.

RippedmyFlesh 04-27-2009 12:10 AM

the vid where mays lays out stevens from cal is good too. after he lays him out they pan to the sideline and ronnie lott is on the sideline giving an approving nod.

He's better in coverage than some believe, USC basically spent this entire season playing cover 1 and he never got beat deep, he's very very good at that.

Some people question his ball skills and playmaking ability because when you play cover 1 he just played a disciplined spot and really doesn't have to many opportunities.

This will help in scouting him, knowing that the rest of his supporting cast didnt just make it easy for him. I wanna see Mays own the middle of the field.

Want to see him more in man coverage. Cover a drag route. Think a poor broad jump at the combine hurts his stock. Have no doubts how he plays the run, he is the ultimate downhill safety, but what happens when he needs to recover?

RippedmyFlesh 04-27-2009 12:27 AM

He hits like a linebacker. WR's have their head on a swivel making sure they know where he is.WR's would get alligator arms with him back there.

blazzin311 04-27-2009 12:34 AM

Some UDFAs still available I think we should consider.

Philip Hunt - DE - Houston
Jose Valdez - OG - Ark.
Chris Baker - DT - Hampton
Dannell Ellerbe - ILB - Georgia

Also found some videos of Taurus Johnson who we already signed and he looks pretty impressive. I think he could potentially be a good WR for us.

Mays and Berry are both big time players.

I think Brandon Spikes would make an outstanding 3-4 rush backer who can move to a pass-rushing end in a hybrid package. Of course we wont take him either.

Everson Griffen will be a great edge rusher and Carlos Dunlap will be a man-child beast of the Mario Williams build, but neither fit well with what we're moving toward.

This sucks. :cuss:

Javon Walker?

Speculation that Javon Walker could be on the way out in Faiderville. Would this be a good pickup for the Chiefs?

Raiders | Walker on way out?
Mon, 27 Apr 2009 07:06:24 -0700

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders WR Javon Walker finds himself in a precarious situation after the team selected WR Darrius Heyward-Bey and WR Louis Murphy in the NFL Draft. However, Walker is guaranteed $4.6 million over the next two seasons, which should keep him on the roster for now.

Very misleading because it includes XP's. His highest ranking in FG % was 20th in 2006 and he dropped each year thereafter.

He got worse each year and his senior campaign was an underwhelming 74.1 FG % including 1/5 from 50+. He's not bad, but calling him the most accurate kicker is, IMO, misleading. His career FG % is 82% which is very good.

Mind you, I'm not arguing he's worse than Succop.

Gotcha, no problem, i had no idea...

I guess he was one of the more accurate, i wonder who is the most accurate college kicker then. Kind've explains why he wasn't in kipers top 5 kickers

Damn. I had hoped Pioli would pick up Mike Rivera from KU (like we don't need the LB help) and Nate Swift from NU.

Both are slow as shit, but appear to be Pioli type team first guys and had good production in college.

It's not incorrect, he is technically the most accurate kicker - but not the most accurate field goal kicker. Just about every kicker not named Lawrence Tynes can make XP's.

For comparison sakes (and this guy wasn't drafted either), Graham Gano had a FG % of 92.3 this past season including 5/5 from 40-49yds and 5-7 from 50+ with a long of 53.

Good lord, surprised he wasn't signed and i wonder wtf is special about succup, even if he is the last pick overall
