TEACUP PIG
Anyway, not a good episode. They've been lackluster lately. Big Bang Theory is much better. |

I am almost done with this show and i absolutely loved the first 3 seasons. They dragged out the mom thing to much.

I just caught up and this was the first episode I intentionally watched live.
I was disappointed but when you watch them via DVD it's clear that it a) hasn't dragged on too far b) could go for a little while longer and c) hasn't jumped the shark. Course, IMO. |
I still like the show, but The Big Bang Theory is much better.

So, will they rename the show "After I met your mother"? |
Those two kids of his are probably about ready to strangle him.

If you're watching HIMYM to find out who the mother is, you're not watching for the right reasons. It's akin to watching House for the medical mysteries while missing the bigger story: House and the supporting characters' interactions.

Last night's episode was one of the best of the season, I thought.

Actually, I loved that part but what I disliked was Marshall getting on the phone with Dan. |

Man, Big Bang Theory is, quite possibly, better than HIMYM. It is awesome. Not as quotable but definitely more laugh for your minute.
|
OK, seeing the mother from Heroes as a Mellencamp was just plain odd.

My main issue with the show is that it's very "punch line" based these days. Not that the end of each show is a joke, but they basically figure out some moral of the story that they want to tell and then design a plot around it. That results in some very weak plots and even weaker characters. All of them are wishy-washy as hell this season.
|
The show is weak now. I HATE the phony laugh track and only one out of every four episodes is memorable or quote-worthy.
It feels like the final three seasons of "Friends", which was once a very good show that just drug on way, way, way, way too long. They need to introduce Ted's wife to be and get this thing moving. I'll never watch it in real-time because it's time just not worth wasting. |
Who watches TV in real-time now, anyway? :) GET WITH THE TIMES, DANE!!!!!
|
I been saying for awhile now, this show dragged on. ITs just eh right now. I invested a few season in this, i want to see who the Mother is already.
Great first few seasons, then nothing, they could have at least introduced her and they didnt click at first or something, but ****, show her already. |

Oh, and Mad Men. |
lol
I generally have to record EVERYTHING because of night classes. Sucks in some ways, but at least I never have to worry about commercials. I don't understand Mad Men. I just finished Season 1. I'm still baffled as to why Don cheats on his hot wife all the time. I'm hoping it becomes a little clearer. |
There's not many sitcoms or tv shows that are really good or funny after about 5 or 6 seasons...

Its just really hard to sustain characters and storyline for years and years.....Lost was smart to finally end it after 6.

Personally, I think this show is as good as the Sopranos at its height of creativity and the show only gets better in seasons two and three. |

Well, they are getting at least one more year out of it as it was renewed for next year.

Last night's episode was awesome. I wish they were all that funny.
|
I thought it was good too. My go-to tv critic Sepinwall hated it, but I liked it a lot.
|
It was pretty good, but last night's Big Bang was better as usual.
|
Pretty good episode last night but baby talk would destroy a series like this.

OK. That was funny.

That said, they can stretch it as long as the ratings hold. |
I thought the mother had a yellow umbrella.
|
I don't care who the mother is.
|
Well, Zoey is not the mother.

My prediction is that the "mother" won't have any plotlines at all and will basically be a throw-in on the very last episode of the show. It's just a matter of how long they can keep it going before they get cancelled.
|
I canceled them about two years ago when they started doing musicals. It was a good show but lost its luster rather quickly in the Lundberg household...

I told my wife we were never watching "How I Never Met Your Mother" again. If you're going to base a show on a premise, then stick to the gawdamm premise. I've pretty much just been watching it for Barney anyway and his character jumped the shark when he banged Robin.

This show has become unwatchable, yet it's still in the Top 15 of all network shows according to the Nielsen Prime Time ratings.
This nonsense could continue on for years. |
In my opinion there is no better sit com on TV right now than Modern Family. I actually look forward to Wednesday nights all week just for that show.

But if we're talking overall, I'm partial to East Bound and Down, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Californication before Modern Family (which do think is a brilliant show). Season Two of EBAD was, as Kenny Powers would say, ****ing epic. |

I watch VERY little TV... but you named 3 of the ones that I do occasionally catch. You sir, have great taste in TV... for a "douche" ROFL |
So I am in the middle of season 7 and OMG this show is ****ing awful now. I have invested 6+ years into this show now and I intend to see it through but hopefully season 8 is the final season and the show is cancelled.

The 1st 5 seasons were good, but it's time to wrap it up. |
