jwazzie - very solid all around team. Like you said, nothing flashy, but that doesn't matter... Jake is very capable and I like your WR/TE/RBs. Defensively, you have quite a bit of age, but that's not a bad thing.

Hell, it probably helps you when the masses vote... most won't recognize many of the 2-3 year players, or care to investigate them much.

Cribbs and Bironas.

Cribbs has gone from the #33 KR in 2006, to #3 in 2007 and #12 in 2008. Not real consistent, but I like his upside.

Norwood wasn't much of a factor his rookie year, 2006... but he was #8 in 2007 and #5 in 2008. I think he's trending in the right direction, add in his rushing/receiving/TDs from the offense and BOOM! "Winner winner chicken dinner."

Bironas - money and on an offense that is very Kicker friendly. Bironas and Crosby were 1 and 2 in 2007, Bironas fell to 8 while Crosby fell to 12 in 2008. Packers aren't as "content" with FGs as the Titans, but Bironas gets the nod there.

Both of our K's are top 3-4 material...

Just kicking more dirt into the air ...

Seriously... it's incredibly unfair to the rest of you that I'm allowed to draft in this league. I just want you guys to know that battling it out for 2nd place is still a fun thing... enjoy it, make the most of it.

My big challenge is drafting now to account for the fact that I'm going to have the last pick in the draft every year from here on out. It's going to be hard.

I dont think its a matter of having weaknesses, most of these teams should be really good considering they have 32 teams rosters to choose from and only 19(is that right?) competing teams in this league.. but there are better teams than yours...

Eh. I keep looking at it, and I think solid, but not spectacular. The linebackers aren't weak, per se, but just not the destructive unit I wished they be. The rest of the D is solid. I'm pleased with the O-Line and runningbacks, and the receivers may suprise.

You just can't top this team...

Seriously, it would be much better if you could learn to use a thread search function. Your team should be good, since you draft people that were taken in the 10th round of the draft and try to draft them again in the late 20 rounds. At least EJ Henderson didn't get drafted until the teens the first time he got drafted in this draft. :D

This is really only the first time this has happened to me. The previous "issue" was a typing issue on my part, Tommy Kelly vs Tommy Harris... But, I'm telling you.... I did the search this thread and neither showed up.

Well Howard had 10 sacks last year in a back-up role behind Trent Cole, so I think he'll be a great complimentary guy....and plus I plan on adding a young DE in this draft that is relatively stacked with DEs...

My Bradenton team has little depth at the moment, but we still have 14 veteran picks coming up and we like our starting lineup. I wish I had a bigger name receiver and a bigger name linebacker, but I concentrated on the o-line and d-line and cornerbacks early on. Hate my QB situation (I was never a fan of Pennington)
Hate that all of my key pass defenders are over 30 (both key pass rushers and both starting corners).
Wish I had a bit more depth at this point.

I like that I have several solid young players that can anchor their positions for another 8 years.

I finally got around to putting mine together, so here are the San Antonio Scorpions:

Offense
QB: Palmer, Rosenfels
RB: Turner
WR: Desean Jackson, M Vick#, S. Smith, Josh Morgan
TE: Celek
LT: Albert
LG: Blalock
C: Kalil
RG: Colledge

P: Colquitt
PR/KR: Jackson, Vick#

* = rookie
# = Vick is a multi-use guy....likely WR, but could fill in at QB or RB as well

Any thoughts??

Rain Man 08-05-2009 09:32 AM

It'll be interesting to see if the Vick pick pays off for you. I had him on my list as a late-round flyer. I bet he gets some action this year.

It seems like you got some good value on your o-line considering where you took them.

Fat Elvis 08-05-2009 09:32 AM

So far, here is the Cleveland Steamers:

QB: Drew Brees
RB: LaDanian Tomlinson, Knowshon Moreno
WR: Randy Moss
WR: Terrell Owens
LT: Chris Samuels
LG: Steve Hutchinson
C: Andre Gurode
RG: Alan Faneca
RT: Flozell Adams (is actually deaf in right ear, so moving him to RT should cut down on False starts)

NT: Shawn Rogers
DT/DE: John Henderson
OLB: Julian Peterson
CB: Malcolm Jenkins

My thought on Vick was that even though he may not be on a NFL roster, he can still be on mine. If I understand it correctly, if I thought I could convince the voters that he could still be a world beater, I could draft Len Dawson to play QB

The Franchise 08-05-2009 09:59 AM

I'm not too sure how you could convice people that Vick is a WR/PR/KR.....considering that he's never done any of those positions.

Good point. I hadn't thought of it that way.

ever wathced him in the open field? I think he would be one of the best pr/kr's in the league if he were given the opportunity....I've been wrong before thuogh. I guess I'll see

The Franchise 08-24-2009 09:33 AM

So do we have dates that we're supposed to cut our rosters down?

Are we going to 75....then 53?

Rain Man 08-24-2009 09:36 AM

I think we'll just go with one cut to 53 (+2 on reserve). I don't remember what's in the rules, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to make our cuts when the NFL makes its cuts to 53. Will that give us enough time?

Sounds fine to me.

So the 2 reserve people. Is that just supposed to be used for injuries or can we place someone on there that we know isn't going to get any playing time....but we don't want to cut?
