Pollard comes on and says, you're using my name in connection with a current player, a "gift" for that player, and the possibility of NCAA infractions. Why didn't you think to call me? KK's answer? "You're not the story."

Bullsh*t. Of course he's the story. The reality is that calling Pollard would have cleared up most of the issues. Plugged all the holes in the story. KK didn't want that.

Without Pollard, this isn't even a story within the Lawrence Police Dept.

Honestly I couldn't care less. I know for a fact that even a lowly JUCO like GCCC has been known to supply players with cars. To me it just doesn't seem like a big deal if a former player wants to sell or even "sell" a car to a current player

It is probably nothing, but you must admit, the drama surrounding the "Mensa" twins is nothing short of riveting. He is driving a vehicle of a teammate (who dislocated his finger, so may have trouble driving it?) that was purchased from a former player, most likely from money given to him by his mom, who just happened to land a job for a company owned by a huge KU booster...

I've seen the registration take up to 3 months when ownership is transferred. I've ran many tags before and many times the paperwork isn't completed yet and fully transferred over and then VIN/PLATE comes back to the previous owner still.

I'm surprised the cops would even come out for such a little incident. Cops in the midwest typically have nothing to do though. If this happened in California or a larger metro area no way in hell are police coming out unless someone's arm was ripped off.

If not you are stupid. If no current insurance is available then it is illegal to drive that truck, or the current insurance was not paid for by the owner. Once again check the "Bill Of Sale."

Actually, if Taylor did buy the vehicle, if he had car insurance on another vehicle(s), typically he will have default coverage at least 30 or more days depending on the state and personal auto policy you have.

Basically, if I bought a car, my insurance would be valid for at least 30 days on the newly acquired vehicle. Some states it's longer. Depending on when he bought the vehicle and when the ownership was officially transferred over he may or may not have been uninsured. If Pollard actually owned the vehicle still, and allowed Markieff to drive it then he would have coverage under Pollard's coverage as primary anyway as a permissive driver.

Additionally, since Markieff is definitely not the owner of the vehicle. Even assuming the vehicle has no insurance on it of any kind. If he is insured under a personal auto policy on any other vehicle his insurance would most likely be used as secondary coverage being there was no primary coverage on the vehicle itself.

Absolute ass... I havent had a jet trip in two months. Instructing has slowed down to next to nothing... Have 5 students right now that are either finishing up or getting ready to start instruments. Other than that it is pretty bleak, the economy has finally taken its toll on the midwest and avaition.

Been working some contract IT for a student of mine... Also, Been out to Buehler_445's farm, working with his dad. Planting wheat and getting ready for the fall harvest.

Home for a few more days until the weather allows us to start harvest.

I am ready for things to turn around... Wondering if my degree and aviation ratings might be all for naught, if this economy doesnt come back and people dont start hiring pilots. I might be hosed.

I kind of thought I did to avoid that as well... I will still fly, but I cant count on it as my sole income for the time being. Just not enough flying to go around... But at times things just dont go as planned. Its not all lost, I have quite a deverse background. I spent around 12 years in IT, so I have something I can fall back on...

Buehlers family just farms quite a few acres out in west Kansas. I am always thankful for meeting them. They always seem to have an ton of work that needs done right when I need it the most. So from the looks of it, they will keep me busy up until mid Nov. So hopefully when that hits, I will get back out there and see what I can rustle up. There was talk of a full time 135 pilot job in Nov with a company I have been flying with, but talk of that has died down some... I have some serious network and connections in avaition.. I have a feeling after the first of the year things will look up and take off... Get it? Take off? LOL...

So we will see?

Also, I am thinking of going back to school and getting a masters in aviation management or a degree in sports therapy....

Well if you read "between the lines as KK always does" it is a copy of Scott Pollard's registration for a 97' Tahoe. One thing that still doesn't add up is who's tags where on the vehicle? Pollard said he took his off and it was beyond the thirty days after the sale where a thirty day tag or tags from another vehicle could be used. So the vehicle had plates that shouldn't have been on it. If the insurance is still in Pollard's name (paying the premiums) even though he signed a bill of sale that would still be considered an illigal benefit.

Either way none of this is going anywhere. They'll get everything ironed out regardless if it was shady at the time of the accident. According to KU this is all the fault of the DMV. I think it might just be a good idea in the future for KU players to not buy anything from Alumni. Regardless if it was on the up-and-up it just doesn't look good.
