I wouldn't mind Meier. Nice hands, runs good routes, takes a beating and still hangs onto the ball/doesn't go Johnny Morton/Bowe and alligator arm it. Fills the third QB spot as well as the possession receiver position. I wouldn't mind a guy like that one bit with a 6th or 7th round pick. Oh...sorry. We don't have one of those. We got O'Connell though. *sigh*

Looks like Glazer was right, everyone on the roster was probably available, but guys like Bowe and Dorsey weren't going to be available for nothing. Pioli would have had to have his socks blown off by an offer, and it sounds like that didn't happen.

Of course, if they don't continue to show improvement the rest of the year, they could easily be shipped in the offseason...

If Pioli can trade out of the top ten and get more picks, I'm sure we'll be moving down. Doubt we find a willing trade partner though...

Mays is slightly over-hyped, IMO. His physical skills are amazing, but he doesn't show an instinctive inclination to the level of guys like Stuckey, Berry, Johnson and the like.

I think he's Bernard Pollard with more speed. And there's nothing wrong with that, but not top ten pick worthy.

No love for our current MVP's - Colquitt or Succop?

As I said, with the Chiefs running a semi-spread anyway, and it being adopted more and more throughout the NFL, I don't see a problem with Okung as the Chiefs first round choice. Besides, he's been a starting LT for three seasons now, and has gone against quality rush ends consistently during his college career. He has excellent footwork and plays hard all game long. I'd rather have Okung at LT, which allows Albert to slide over to LG (a position that I think he could be absolutely dominant at for the next decade), and draft a player like Stuckey in the second than just have Berry in the first. (And as I stated, I don't think that Mays has shown enough instinct on the ball and quality tackling to be considered anything other than a faster Bernard Pollard at this point. And like I said, that's not a bad thing, just not a top ten player in my opinion.)

And if you wanted a big free safety, you could always look at someone like Kam Chancellor of Virginia Tech in the 3/4 round, or if you wanted a ball hawk, someone like Robert Johnson of Utah in the later rounds would be a nice pick. I just don't see where Mays justifies a top ten pick other than his physical attributes. Kind of like Dunlap at Florida. He's a complete and utter physical freak, but his play on the field isn't to the same level as what his athleticism would suggest - just like Mays.

We're going to be in the same position as last year. Top 5 for sure, probably top 3.

No one will want the pick.
