Likewise. My FB status this morning was "Hoping the Chiefs can at least make it interesting."

No complaints from me.

Regardless, fun win today. Unbelievable turn of events in the second half. Very proud of the defensive effort. The stat line looks pretty ugly, but the guys played with tremendous heart.

5-11 on the year, perhaps? Pleasant surprise.

Are you being sarcastic again? ;)

This off season is key. They now have film on their guys in their system. Not to be an apologist, but all they had on this OLine was them playing in the spread. Now that they know they cant play, IMO we see some wholesale changes. All for using FA to get your starting lines(off/def) and using the draft for depth.

That guy in your avatar is step one of the key. Yes, we have NO idea if he would ever be an asset on the scale of T-Pal, but if he IS, or if he is CLOSE, can we not say now, after today, that missing an impact Safety on the field is "no big deal"?

No. No we can not.

On the money. He's a draft expert because he sits in his moms basement playing Madden for days on end. He only appreciates USCs program but he's a Chiefs fan first, yeah right. He's a "fan of the NFL" and will never understand the Chiefs idiot fan base, yet he spends most of his time posting on a Chiefs board.

Are you referring to me or Mecca?

And I suppose that none of you checked the date of that quote, which was 8/11/2009.

LONG before the additions of Lance Long, Bobby Wade, Chris Chambers and Ryan O'Callaghan.

I think the Chiefs have a very good possibility of finishing up at 6-10.

I think everyone is referring to the massive bag of FAIL called Mecca. Not only does he write at 3rd grade level (ok, it might have improved to 5th grade as of late), but he has the propensity of calling everyone stupid and regarding himself as the ultimate football knowledge. You can be arrogant at times, but you've worked hard to earn that right, Mecca on the other hand...

Sometimes its fun to bash Mecca, but sometimes it gets old. For the most part, he asks for it. I enjoy some of his takes on football. The problem is, he is loosing his credibility. Hamstring injuries are a clear indicator of poor conditioning.

His conditioning is obviously better and he is MUCH stronger than last year. I expect a similar curve to positively effect his play next year too.

Too much muscle on top can and does often lead to hamstring issues.

Excuse me?

I NEVER once stated that he didn't have talent or that he wasn't effective. He was effective under Herm and had a great day against Tampa before injuring his hamstring (again).

He just hadn't proven he was capable of being an every down, NFL back until the past few weeks.

Which is the same exact issue that EVERYONE on the coaching staff had with him.

It really is okay to be wrong. Most of us are at some point or another regarding the Chiefs. I lost hope in Cassel at some point this year. Based on this year, I don't see him as a franchise qb for a playoff caliber team. I don't see him winning a playoff game with his arm. That said, I truly hope he proves me wrong next year. I do.

I doubt it, but he could be taking HGH, lots of NE players tested for it ...or it could be just a lot of hard work. To say he takes steroids is a little baseless, its not like the guy gained 15 pounds of muscle.

Also take into account the fact I have been preaching all year, and last on the other board.

He didnt lift weights in College as much as a football player normally does because of him being a track guy. It takes away from a sprinters flexibility. This is a HUGE reason for why a back with his talent slipped to the third round.

"too much muscle on top"? no

Last year he went down on first contact. This year he is bouncing off contact and turning them into long gains. Next year I fully expect him to start punishing defenders a little more toward the end of runs as PH used to do. I also expect him to become a very dangerous receiving threat next year after a full offseason of work with the staff on route running, remember Priest wasn't a great receiver till a couple years into his career because Texas backs dont have to do it.

If he is able to stay healthy, he will be one hell of a weapon for us.

I wasn't wrong.

I never stated that Charles didn't have the ability; I doubted his health because he was only able to carry the ball 67 times last year.

Again, the coaching staff had the very same doubts, which is why they tried to trade him and limited him to kickoff returns and third downs.

What I stated in mid-September was the general consensus.

Thankfully, he's proved otherwise since been given a chance.

But you never stated he did, either.

You disqualified his talent completely because he was "injury prone," which is an odd thing to say about a player who plays in all 16 games and goes through the offseason without undergoing surgery.

It was a classic case of "Dane sees something wrong so he's going to blow it out of proportion to slam the Chiefs."

Anyway, just my take.

Also take into account the fact I have been preaching all year, and last on the other board.

He didnt lift weights in College as much as a football player normally does because of him being a track guy. It takes away from a sprinters flexibility.

Last year he went down on first contact. This year he is bouncing off contact and turning them into long gains. Next year I fully expect him to start punishing defenders a little more toward the end of runs as PH used to do. I also expect him to become a very dangerous receiving threat next year after a full offseason of work with the staff on route running, remember Priest wasn't a great receiver till a couple years into his career.

If he is able to stay healthy, he will be one hell of a weapon for us.

The first sign of steroid use is hamstring injuries. I'm not claiming he did steroids but that is the first sign. It seems odd that a sprinter and hurdle guy like Charles would have so many issues his first season, but whatever.

Hopefully, he's past that.

As for HGH, I pretty much assume that most guys are doing it.

Bull ****ing shit.

Maybe I didn't state it in THIS thread but I certainly said it on several occasions.

What's your ****ing obsession with me, anyway?

You're creeping me out.

Alrighty. Charles looks like he's going to be an effective weapon for the Chiefs, and we smashed the donks. Nice ending on a rough year for Chiefs' fans everywhere. All is good for now. In fact, I think I'll change my avy in honor of the Chiefs' bashing of the donks playoff hopes. Happy New Year and best wishes for everyone here.

I just happened to remember our debates about Charles this offseason. They were intense.

Seemed like a good time to bump your post. Especially because I've been a JC Believer since the beginning. I was wrong, too. I thought his ceiling this year was 1,000 TOTAL yards. He blew me away.

JC? More like Derrick Johnson.

You're from Texas.

Hardly an objective bystander.
