This show has quickly moved up into my top 5.

I can't believe they are putting this up against Chuck on the 31st though. I would think McG would have a serious objection to that.

I like the show because it does not tell us to take it that seriously. It's today's version of the escapist action shows of the 60s and the 70s. Lots of loose and lucky coincidences that in a more serious show I would not accept.

That said, the first show of the season had a bit too much of those happy coincidences. The worst was when the shoulder mounted rocket accidentally but neatly passed through the airplane door, not causing any damage to the jet. It was like COME OOOON! If they start writing more scenes like that into the show it'll jump the shark sooner than you think. And that would be a shame.

Enjoying the second season so far.

As for the two new additions: I would like to be the meat in that Actress Sandwich. :thumb:

See, I viewed that as a laughing moment not a oh come on moment. This show doesn't take itself too seriously and that is why I like it so much.

kcxiv 01-15-2011 04:15 PM

Jackie is the best character on the show. I loved the 2nd episode they recently had in the double episodes. Dude plays his character so well and he's so just off the wall. I love this show.

Like people have said, this show is just mean for pure fun.

This isn't a serious show. I think its going for the campy and fun angle. Not every single thing has to be plausible. And putting Ms. Montgomery in a bikini was a fantastic idea.

I liked here better the week she was all oiled up.

Yeah but it's not Hot Shots Part Deux either.

IMO, it's getting close.

Since the new producers took over, the line between action/adventure and comedy has been crossed.

Fox is slowly beginning ruin to a cool and unique concept by turning it into a predictable weekly fluff show.

It's really a shame.

Yep. It's a shame too. This show has the potential of being a bit of a classic, unless slap-stick takes over.

RIP, along with Chicago Code and Lie to Me.

Frankie 05-11-2011 01:49 PM

That's a f@#$ing shame. It was a very entertaining show. I hope another network picks it up.

007 05-11-2011 01:52 PM

Oh well. Kind of expected that anyway.

Baby Lee 05-11-2011 02:37 PM

Worse day, Ms. Flashdance or Mr. The Shield?

this show was no where near as good as 4400 canadakc should miss that job more then this POS.

Adept Havelock 05-11-2011 04:48 PM

Damn shame, I really enjoyed the show.

BigRedChief 05-11-2011 05:17 PM

crap. they move these shows around or put them up against Idol or Dancing with Stars and they wonder why they never gain an audience.

I'm always amazed about this and wonder if there aren't internal network politics among the suits, leading to forcing some shows into poor rating.

keg in kc 05-11-2011 05:39 PM

Fox has the additional issue of 1/3 the broadcast hours, since they go to news at 10/9. It's never good to be a bubble show on that network. I'm stunned Fringe has lasted as long as it has.

Deberg_1990 05-11-2011 06:40 PM

I will say this about FOX, they take the most chances of any Network.

Would X-Files, Fringe, Firefly, Dollhouse, Arrested Development have played on CBS, NBC???? Doubtful....

CanadaKC 05-11-2011 08:44 PM

Oh well....it was fun while it lasted. Both "The 4400" and "Human Target" were fun...but season 2 of HT was a disaster from the start. Bringing in the 2 women to "expand" their audience just watered-down the great mojo Chance, Winston, and Guerrero had going on in season one. I'll say this, Jackie Earl Haley is one f@cking good actor... better than anyone on the show...subsequently his character was the most popular...by a big margin. That was the best part for me....watching JEH get his game face on for that role.

Interesting take on the additions to the cast. They were both eye candy for sure, especially the thief. She was amazingly hot. Put me on the list of JEH fans.

Completely agree with your take on Human Target. Adding the two new characters that obviously catered to expanding the audience really hurt what made the show work so well in season 1.

Jackie Earl Haley is also outstanding.

I could understand the Mrs Pucci addition. They wanted to make the show international and needed to write in a financier.

As for JEH, he stole the show at every corner. I could have done without them turning him into a ninja. It was cool when we never saw how he beat the bigger bad guy and saw only the after effect.

Frankie 05-12-2011 12:01 AM

CanadaKC, I have two questions:

1- At the end of HT's season 1 they showed Chances former mentor and current blood enemy. He was played by Armand Assante. Was there any plan originally to expand on that in season 3 or did they just drop that story line?

2- Did 4400 have an ending or did it end unresolved? I ask this because I happen to have seasons one and two and don't know if I should buy the rest.

It ends unresolved and spit to the fan's face.

:banghead:

This practice should be illegal. Networks should be forced by law to finance a resolution episode either as a TV movie or a theatrical one when they decide to cancel a show.

If the country did not have so many deep problems to deal with I'd write my senator about this. Seriously.

Mr. Flopnuts 05-13-2011 03:14 AM

Honestly, I never watched the show. I am sorry it was cancelled though. I hope you find something else quickly.
