I am good with either the Inglourious Basterds, Up in the Air or Hurt Locker in that order. I also really liked An Education.

I like how they suck off each actor before sucking the winner off one final time.

Yea, hes one of those old pros, that probably should have won by now, but kept getting jobbed.

Congrats to him. Hes been solid since the early 70's.

Getting closer to part where Sandra Bullock manages to win an Oscar for some reason.

Miles 03-07-2010 10:44 PM

Carrie Mulligan should probably get this but only has a bit of an outside chance.

Hammock Parties 03-07-2010 10:45 PM

Oh look, she's an emotional wreck just like her character.

I wonder how difficult it was for her to play the part.

Seriously, 95% of her movies are pure crap.

Bullock is the one person whom I really wanted to win tonight. The role in Blind Side was amazingly believable, and so far from her previous work it was a real joy to watch.

I still really don't get how she won. Kinda like it was so unexpected that she managed to put up a good performance in a fairly good movie after all that previous mess that they just handed her one.

an Oscar isn't a lifetime achievement award (except for the Lifetime Achievement Award). Her performance in Blind Side was very good. If you can't see that you're just a dumbass.

I thought Hurt Locker was very good. Avatar, while groundbreaking wasn't cinematic gold IMHO. I guess if you see BP as a true achievement and innovation award, it was worth, but beyond that the story nor acting were worthy.

3D does not equate to Academy Award. that is the only thing that movie brought to the table.

Avatar was basically a remake. It won where it should have. The visual effects were awesome, but the story has been done more than once.

The same can be said for Star Wars, which also didn't win the Academy.

cdcox 03-07-2010 11:04 PM

Hurt Locker = Charles Woodson

Avatar = Peyton Manning

I haven't seen either movie, but too many people thought about this too long.

Honestly if this year was a 5 nominee year, I don't even think IB gets a nod.

And what did the Hurt Locker bring that the other war\military movies haven't brought? I loved the Hurt Locker but it isn't a better movie than Saving Private Ryan which didn't win Best Picture.

I think SPR getting passed up is one of the worst mistakes in Oscar history.

Hurt Locker was a good story, onscreen and off. I think that is part of it's success. They like the indie feel.

I don't see that at all. On most prediction sites it was in 3rd behind Avatar and Hurt Locker, with it being the only movie with a chance of beating them. Its movies like Blind Side and District 9 that you wouldn't see in a normal year.

I had no interest in Hurt Locker until tonight. I wanted to see Basterds win myself. Avatar had no business winning.

I'm going to see Hurt Locker soon though.

The Oscars are not meritorious, dirk. Sandra Bullock won one, for ****'s sake. That's like Tom Chambers winning an NBA MVP or giving the Cy Young to Scott Kazmir.
