WTF is wrong with the MU defense this game? I am not watching it but just looked at the box score and NU is shooting 62%. MU shitting the bed like this has likely played themselves into a seed in the 8-11 range. Sound about right?

Bugeater 03-10-2010 03:43 PM

Crazy huh? Welcome to the Big 12.

KU's new football coach sucks too. If his goal is to recruit he's failing.

NBA is a different game. Fouls are never called, traveling and double dribbling is allowed, and they're lazy on defense. There are 82 games in a season and maybe 10 of them are worth watching.

Lazy on defense? There are so many broad stroke generalizations in this post CoMo, but to claim the defense is lazy in the NBA is laughable at best.

The NBA is different than college. That being said, I still watch the NBA some because it is still basketball. I also think it is a little harder to become a big NBA fan since we have no local team. I usually just follow the teams with former KU players. ;)

For the most part it is. The time to actually start watching the NBA is in the last couple weeks in the season when teams are fighting for playoff spots, and on into the playoffs. THEN you will see better defense.

But for the most part in the reg season, you will see shitty defense in almost every single game. There are exceptions to the rule. There are "defensive specialists". But for the most part the defense in the NBA is horrible.

kind of the double edge sword. You are better than expected, then people start to get excited then they suck it up a couple games.

Mizzou is going to the Final Four.

sedated 03-10-2010 04:38 PM

considering MU fell apart following the injury to Safford, and it remains to be seen if they can deal with the Bowers injury, this could be very bad news for MU's tourney hopes.

They will still probably get it, but their non-con wasn't the best (IIRC), and if they are borderline on RPI they might find themselves somewhere around "last 4 in".

no way in hell. They could have laid down at half court and surrendered a 50-point thrashing and they still would have made it. They were only playing for seeding.

Yeah, it doesnt look pretty but have you seen the rest of the teams out there? Compared to the teams actually on the bubble, Misery's profile is golden.

It happens quite a bit.

If you post a one-liner without explaining your complete line of reasoning; Zach will most assuredly say something along the lines of "Great input".
