As a human being, Rapelisburger is horrible and I don't think I would invite him into my house.

As for inviting onto my team, do it and then some.

We don't watch our team because we admire their ethics and morals, we watch them because we want to WIN.

and since you've obviously never watched him play, he doesn't go down like a pussy the way Cassel does...he does not have a great ol in pittsburgh, he simply extends plays in a way that no other QB in the league is capable of....
you're just a rare breed of fuktard

I hate when he does that.

But I'd really like it if he was wearing a Chiefs jersey.

I agreed with this entirely before the second Super Bowl win. He was down right terrible in their first Super Bowl. The drive to win the second Super Bowl was just about as good as it gets.

I think at this point I would take Peyton, Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Rivers and maybe still Favre ahead of Ben. But he is definitely in the conversation of a top 5 QB.

Marcellus 04-21-2010 11:27 AM

Last time we picked up a Pittsburgh reject QB it worked out pretty well for us.

Of course he wasn't an accused rapist.

I'm surprised to find the "Yes" votes so outnumbered.

Hootie 04-21-2010 12:22 PM

I'd give them Cassel, our 2A, and our 2011 1st round pick.

Or I'd give them our #5...

and in either scenario...I'd be like...holy shit! We just got a two time Super Bowl champion QB in the prime of his career! We might actually be worth a damn for the first time...ever!

Hootie 04-21-2010 12:22 PM

(and if they were feeling nice, they'd take our #5 AND Cassel for Big Ben)

The Rams and Bills have reportedly told the Steelers that they are not interested in trading for suspended QB Ben Roethlisberger.
St. Louis and Buffalo are among seven teams the Steelers have contacted about a possible trade. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the others are: San Francisco, Jacksonville, Oakland, Seattle, and Cleveland. Pittsburgh appears to be fully open to moving Roethlisberger for a top-13 draft selection.

That's exactly how I feel about it.

In a bubble, with no prior sexual assault issues. I'd make this trade in a heartbeat. Of course, if he wasn't "damaged goods", Pissburgh wouldn't be fielding offers.

Holy shit.....Roethlisberger in San Francisco? They could trade for him and STILL have a 1st round pick.

With weapons like Vernon Davis, Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree in San Francisco, a very strong defense AND a first round pick left over, I think that would be a pretty solid move for the Niners.

SenselessChiefsFan 04-21-2010 12:50 PM

No

Big Ben is truly better than Cassel. That said, he has concussion issues to go along with his off field problems.

They say that concussion problems are cumulative.... so, the next one will happen even easier, then easier, then easier. He holds the ball for a long time. Yes, he can extend the play, but takes a lot of hits. Wouldn't surprise me if he is out of the league in the next five years.

Heck, if a woman were smart, she would hit him over the head the next time he whips it out... and I mean the one on his shoulders.

Maybe. But, no chargers, no complaints, no drinking.... I don't know that he will get talked to.

ToxSocks 04-21-2010 01:06 PM

I see a draft day trade with the Raiders happening. Big, strong armed QB is exactly what Al Davis wants and i think he'd trade that number 8 overall to get it.

And Alex Smith could take him to firesides and family home evenings and have him meet with the relief society ladies. Ben needs a bit of churching up.

Either that, or he just heads 'round the bend and ends up raping queens in all the bundle of sticks bars.

According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, the Raiders are in contact with the Steelers about a trade for Ben Roethlisberger.
La Canfora says Oakland "might be (the) only real option" for Pittsburgh if the Steelers are truly prepared to wash their hands of the 28-year-old QB. The Raiders, smartly (for once), appear to have realized that JaMarcus Russell is a bust, and very arguably the biggest in NFL history. The Steelers might ask for Nnamdi Asomugha in addition to Oakland's No. 8 overall pick.

Not doing so would be a mistake.

Of course, Ben doesn't at all fit into the empty rhetoric that our organization likes to spew, so we're not part of the conversation.

You may be right but Steelers organization won a ton of games with guys like Tommy Maddox, Mark Malone and Kordell Stewart.

If they trade Ben for a first rounder, they'll bounce back quickly.

They always have.

And who gives a shit, really? They got two Super Bowls out of the guy and he's become a gigantic headache. Their fans don't want him around, either.

BigChiefFan 04-21-2010 03:29 PM

Pitt would be looking to package picks to trade with the Rams for Bradford. Tomlin has given a ringing endorsement for Bradford. I don't think Clausen's even on their radar screen.

DaneMcCloud 04-21-2010 03:56 PM

I can't believe that St. Louis is even considering a trade for Ruthlessraper. If they do trade for him, it's a desperation move, IMO. Desperation for Devaney and Spags, not the ownership, which is somewhat in disarray.

I think adding Roethlisberger, Berry, Thomas Jones, a few OL and a year of progression, familiarity and maturity and an upgrade in the coaching staff would spell all sorts of win for this offseason!

Pipe dream...

but if we offered all that (Cassel, 36, 2011 1st, 2011 3rd) for Roethlisberger it might be rather enticing to Pittsburgh.

DJ's left nut 04-21-2010 04:06 PM

In a heartbeat.

I think Ben is guilty of being an absolute ****stick. A completely irresponsible, overgrown fratboy gorilla.

I don't actually think he raped the girl. A) He is an NFL QB. All he'd need to do is find another groupy. Did he try to nail a drunk girl? Yup, but that's hardly a select club. B) A rape kit would've shown some pretty serious evidence of it if he actually assaulted the girl.

So the question for me isn't "Can I have a rapist at QB?" it's, "Can I have a complete douchenozzle and misogynist at QB?"

Uh...yeah, I can live with that.

I have few doubts that he's an asshole drunk, especially towards women...he's rich, a successful NFL QB, and young...no doubt in my mind he thinks he is superior to these young girls and can get any one of them he so chooses...

Well Hootie, I don't.

I have a very close friend in Vegas who not only is involved in the club scene but whose wife worked at Harrah's for a decade that's told me the guy is VERY dirty.

Only you would give up Cassel, and 2011 first and third round picks for a guy that will miss six games or more next year.

Those 2011 picks would most likely be top ten.

Hootie 04-21-2010 04:10 PM

lets take the exact same scenario minus the fancy security guards and replace Mr. Roethlisberger with me...a 24 year old drunk asshole who finds demeaning young girls to be kind of a sport.

If I hooked up with that drunk ass girl in the bathroom, I guarantee it wouldn't have been against her will...and she and her friends would have known that. (Because I'm a normal person and have no desire to rape someone and then live in fear that I'll end up going to prison for it and in turn end up being raped by big, strong, African American men...)

However, I'm 24 and have zero commas in my bank account...so her friends would have been like..."god damnit Lacey you're an idiot stop being such a slut!" and they would have gone club ratting at the next spot, and then the next spot, and then the next spot...like they do every weekend.

Instead she hooked up with a rich QB and they all hear the stories on the news and they're like...cha ching!

Yeah...

You're right...

I'd give up those picks in a SECOND...for a 28 year old franchise Super Bowl winning NFL QB...and you know what?

I'd give up a hell of a lot more as well...this is the ultimate buy low situation and if they really jumped on Cassel, 36, 2011 1st and 2011 3rd for Roethlisberger and it allowed us to still draft Berry and keep our other picks this year...

Hell yeah I'd mortgage a potential top 10 pick in 2011 for a guy who would be UNTOUCHABLE FOR 10 TOP 10 PICKS if he didn't have such ridiculous character concern...

and in all honesty...if I could do a futures bet on whether Roethlisberger ever gets in any significant trouble EVER again during his NFL career...I'd put my $$$ on NO.

There are equally compelling arguments to be made on both sides of this issue. I don't necessarily think there is a "wrong" answer in this case.

He's a proven player in his prime but he carries a massive risk and will require a hefty price.

I don't care what picture anyone is trying to paint for me...whether it be a police report...or whether they had hardcore, consensual, porno style, hair grabbing anal sex and he shot his massive load all over the bathroom and then was worried this very sexual assault scenario may present itself because the girl was 20, a club rat, and intoxicated...

we don't need to hypothesize..we have a lot of facts here that can't be denied just because you hang out with club whores...

your pet theories about humans are mostly infantile and kind of dumb

Hootie 04-21-2010 04:25 PM

people on this site, or in the media, or anywhere will skate around it...but I'm a nobody and don't care if people think I'm a racist asshole...

If he was black...I wouldn't touch him with a 20 foot pole.

But he's white and comes from a good family background. His risk is minimal. He's wise enough to know this is his last chance...

He's not from the ghetto...crime isn't all he knows.

Whatever man...

Ok...so lets say he raped these two girls.

Fine.

He's gotten away with it now...both times. Cases closed.

I love to bet...I'd bet ANYTHING something like this doesn't happen for the next 7 years...and if it does...I bet you within 1 month it would be found as an unsubstantiated claim since Roethlisberger is such a target right now...

Basically...

I'll bet ANYTHING after this NFL suspension, he'll never face another one for the rest of his NFL career.

Racism is still alive and well in 2010.

Cause we all know middle class white kids can't be rapists. It's just those black ones from the other side of the tracks...

Harper Lee wrote a book you should read.

Hootie 04-21-2010 04:30 PM

and I love how 40-50 year old men are trying to tell ME how 20 year old club rats think...

I just got a neg rep from some 'warrior' fellow that said people should be at least 10 to post on here...

Really?

Fine...you guys keep trying to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about...and keep thinking BEN ROETHLISBERGER, HIGH PROFILE, VERY RICH NFL QB walks around night clubs and rapes unwilling underage girls because he can!

If you guys REALLY believe that...I don't know what to tell you.

And I don't give a **** if the players are "nice guys" or even "decent guys."

I want ****ing wins. Period.

Regardless of the validity of the allegations, people who are rapists are not the type that just stop doing it. So, if the allegations are true, the chances are pretty high it would happen again.

Seriously...

If push came to shove...

and the Steelers were like...

"Ok, the #5, Cassel, and your 2011 1st and THE DEAL IS DONE!"

I'd act like I was thinking about it...grunt a few times...huff and puff...and then say...DEAL!

No way ! Will he learn ? Look at Jared Allen, he hasn't changed much.

I agree completely. That douche seems to be a future KKK member, in fact he may already be one.

What roethlisberger did was wrong, regardless of race.

As for the football player, he's a dumpster fire, a controversy waiting to happen and really although he won two superbowls, his surrounding cast had more to do with those victories then he did.

PASS.

yeah dude I'm a klan member! YEAH! GO KLAN! I have klan meetings on Thursdays and rape fests on Wednesdays...

Hootie 04-21-2010 04:57 PM

I do find it funny how scared people are to call things how they are...

Some call it racist, others think of it as the truth.

In other words...idiots think I'm a racist, smart people know I call it like it is.

Wow, Goodell's speech was commendable.
