Can be all them teams and play against any of the current teams. Not online though. Maybe in the unranked lobby, not sure.

Bibby has been killing me with TOs, lack of stamina, etc. in my Hawks Association so I made these two deals...

Hawks get:
Jason Kidd

Suns get:
Jamal Crawford
2011 1st Round Draft Pick

and

Hawks get:
2011 1st Round Draft Pick

Thunder get:
Mike Bibby
2012 2nd Round Draft Pick

Signed Larry Hughes after making these two deals. I'm hoping Kidd can give me two good years and then I can take a run at CP3 and I was happy to get out from under Crawford and Bibby's contract. My CAP SG made Crawford expendable.

I so need to get this game. After trying the demo, I'm sold. This game kicks ass.

suds79 10-13-2010 11:13 AM

I was slow to come around to 2k11 being a former NBA live guy but the more I get used to the controls from the demo, the more I like. Seems like there's a million moves at my disposal.

The Jordan moments seems really cool also since I loved watching those 90s bulls teams.

Thinking I'm going to pick it up tonight. Can't wait.

Titty Meat 03-25-2011 08:59 PM

Bump. Sorry didn't see this thread. Anyway I started off 16-4 with the Heat now lost the last 4 games by 10+ points each game. Can anyone tell me why this is? Do I need to practice the players more? Rest them during the games? I only play 5 min QTRs.

kcxiv 03-25-2011 09:45 PM

What teams did you play? all teams play different styles. Also, what settings are you playing on?

Too late I just won 2 of 3. I'm the Heat on the 2nd to easiest level which isn't that ****ing easy. With the Heat its about getting in transition in the half court set I like to do pick & rolls with Wade/Bosh. Bosh has a sweet jumper and Wade is great to the basket and can also hit jumpers.

Is there any way to call offensive plays or change defensive schemes in My Player mode?

I think only if your a point guard and you have to get your rating about 70. I may be off on that part though.

'Hamas' Jenkins 03-26-2011 04:01 PM

I really like this game. I'm in my 7th year of a dynasty with the Raptors. The first year I traded away all of my assets (DeRozan, Ed Davis, etc.) save for Bargnani, and built a team through the draft.

What I don't get are these things:

1) If I fire my coach, they only ones available are coaches with a D or F potential, so there's no point to fire him

2) Even though my starting 5 now has ratings of 99, 97, 94, 92, and 88 with another 85 and an 83 coming off the bench, my team rating is an 89.

Any ideas?

The Bad Guy 03-26-2011 04:04 PM

I'm a huge fan of this game. What I can't consistently get is games online, it just keeps searching 90% of the time.

kcxiv 03-26-2011 06:20 PM

opening ports is huge, you may already have it open and its sometimes a pain to find a game on the ps3, but on the 360, its pretty easy to do.

Yeah, I have a PS3. I have no idea how to open ports.

How many years were you bad? I don't think I could play all those games knowing I was going to lose.

kcxiv 03-28-2011 01:45 AM

Think it takes you whole team. So if you got some shitty ass dude thats last on the bench thats going to affect the overall team rating big time. At least i think.

Dayze 03-28-2011 10:04 AM

I was in desperate need of a new game, after playing the abortion of a game "Homefront" for two days (didn't even finish the campaign). ...huge disappointment for me as I was looking forward to it.

So, i went outside my comfort zone and bought a Basketball game. I know virtually nothing about baskeball in terms of defense/offense etc. I bought NBA live 2010 for like $18. So far I really enjoy it, but after reading reviews of 2k11, i'm seriously thinking of picking that up instead. looking at the videos online, it's like night and day difference between the two games.

...clearly apparent - even for myself who has always suspected as much - that EA sports 'mails it in' each year with their sports titles. I think I'm piciing up 2k11 tonight after work to give it a go.

Yea I'd say do it. Just FYI though 2k11 doesn't seem like your typical game i'm mean there is some strategy involved.

I've looked at rosters for teams that are 97, and I'm higher at every respective position. There are teams that have a rating in the mid 90s that don't have a single player in the 90s, and have multiple players in the 60s.

I simmed the first year, just focusing on bottoming out and developing talent through the progression games once a month.

Titty Meat 03-28-2011 02:07 PM

So after going 1-5 in the last 6 games I made the playoffs as a #2 and i'm about to sweep the Hawks. Go figure.

I do the same thing in Madden. Trade away all the older players, leaving behind a few young cornerstones and build my own team through the draft.

I just bought this game about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I love it. It is absolutely the best hoops video game ever. I mean yeah, 2K8 was great and I like college better. But this game is even better. The presentation, the many game modes, the tutorials...Fantastic! I even played a pickup game last night online using My Player. That is awesome that you can play a pickup game with real people each playing their own My Player over the internet.

I have noticed that some people I have played that are great at playing My Player I have kicked their butts in the online league. They tend to forget that hoops is a team sport.

Urc Burry 04-01-2011 10:43 AM

In my player, i'm in my first season in the playoffs, 53 overall...got drafted by the thunder, and the starting lineup looks like:
PG Me
SG Rip Hamilton
SF Durant
PF Kevin Love
C Perkins
6th man: Westbrook

Pretty badass lineup

DBOSHO 04-02-2011 04:46 PM

I won the nba finals in myplayer on the nets after being down 3-0 to the spurs lol. You get to take pictures with obama!!!!!1!

Dayze 04-13-2011 10:17 AM

i've been playing the "My Player" feature.

Overall, my basketball knowledge is pretty limited, so I'm not sure how well I did distributing my points when setting it up. And, I'm not all that sure what the different positions are - so I went with SG.
I'm rated as an 'all-around' type player, with only a 43 rating.
I think I've played like 42 games so far; only averaging like 6pts a game, but don't do too bad (I don't think...) in defensive rebounds and assists; about 5 each per game.

Shooting is becoming a 'little' easier now that I've been able to bump up my attributes slightly.

The thing that drives me nuts - and I"m not sure if this is a 'user' thing or 'game thing' - is at times my team will transition to offesne and set up; and the PG will stand there for nearly the entire shot clock until about 3 seconds, then either shoot a low percentage shot or dish it. Meanwhile, my entire team stands there...no one running or moving. I'm the only one running around, trying to set screens etc. I've tried even standing in my own spot in the offense, thinking maybe the computer needs to recognize you there in order to select a play etc; but no dice. Doesn't happen all the time; but probably at least 60% or more. very frustrating.

I may even consider creating a new player now that I know a little more as to what's important from an attribute standpoint based on how I play. my guy sucks at dribbling, ball security, layups, shooting in traffic.............basically everythign lol.

But overall, awesome game. I'm not even a 'basketball guy' at all, but I've been playing the sh*t out of this. very fun.

Hays 04-13-2011 12:22 PM

On offense are you going to the blue spot, your offense usually won't run until you go to your spot so they set the play.

yeah, I finally figured that out after while, but it still happens quite a lot; like an offensive play doesn't get called or whatever. when a play does get called I can see the lines/play I'm supposed to make, but it seems a lot of times I stand in the spot, and the entire team stands in once place.

I'm sure part of the problem is my lack of basketball know-how etc. too.

I also need to figure out how to call plays when I get subbed to PG; or determine if the computer automatically calls one for me etc.

kcxiv 04-13-2011 01:34 PM

I think a PG can only call plays when your rating gets passed a certain overall number.

QuikSsurfer 04-13-2011 01:47 PM

Loving this game!

I thought it seemed when you built your teams trust...answering professional and loyalty in the interviews basically.

I won the ship with the thunder in year 1, then demanded a trade to the Heat in year 2 :p

Been playing online I like to play as the Heat, Bulls, Warrior, and Thunder...and that's about it

I can't wait for that. Loving the My Player mode, but it gets frustrating sometimes not being able to call plays.

Titty Meat 04-16-2011 12:06 AM

I made it to the ship bitches!

DBOSHO 04-16-2011 10:03 AM

I just lost a game to a buddy by 3 pts when i was up by 18 in the 4th..

Dayze 04-18-2011 08:51 AM

Ok,
I played this game a TON on Saturday; didn’t have much going on, the wife was out shopping etc, so I played it for a few hours.

I got MUCH better. I’m not sure if it’s because I was able to get a few more skill points or what. I’m still only at an overall level 44, so I don’t know if skill points really helped much etc. But for some reason, my team went off. Up to that point, we were like 12-38 or something really bad like that. then we rattled off a 7 game streak; and during that time I was named player of the game.

That REALLY helped because I received a ton of skill points (more than the typically 100 points I had been getting each game etc). Then over the course of the next couple hours, I got player of the game again like 4 more times.

Not sure what I was doing differently; maybe letting the offense run (instead of me running around like a fool); I really concentrated on defense and rebounding.

I can’t tell you how good it feels to actually shoot the ball and have it go in the hoop. Lol. Before I was lucking to drain about 10% of my shots. IN the last couple games I was shooting about 65%; had about 12-18pts per game (compared to like 4); about 6 rebounds PG.

This game is awesome/addicting (and this coming from a non-basketball guy)

Mr. Arrowhead 04-19-2011 09:17 AM

to get your ranking up, get your offensive and defensive awareness up, that alone will get u to 65 overall.

dirk digler 04-19-2011 09:39 AM

I am on my 2nd year in My Player playing PG with the Clippers, rated a 99 and won the MVP and the Championship my rookie year. I am undefeated and 61-0 so far in my second year.

Fun as hell.

I did that for awhile. It was fun and addictive. Heck, this whole game is very addictive. But I had to stop playing My Player mode because it was making me worse in the Association mode.

Hammock Parties 07-06-2011 09:43 AM

I'm a 6-3 athletic PG about 3/4 done with rookie year.

Concentrating on jump shooting and defense.

Most of my points are in medium, 3 point, shoot off dribble, consistency, defensive awareness and on ball defense.

It's funny because I have no points in layup right now and last game I missed about four point blank layups, but hit 5 three pointers.

Lzen 07-06-2011 11:41 AM

Sounds similar to what I did. Was trying to become a good 3 point shooter first.
