I'm buying day of. Cheapest seat available and then hanging out in the party area in the outfield.

Then, if for some reason they wake the **** up and move the game to Thursday, I'm not getting ****ed in the process.

I'm definitely getting a double parking pass. $3 to get into the lot early? F yeah.

Bugeater 07-07-2010 12:48 PM

Apparently the all day passes are restricted to lot C, whereever that is.

Does that mean gates for MNF tailgating are opening at 3:30? Looks like I'll only be at the Royals game for a little over an hour.

Bugeater 07-07-2010 01:32 PM

I think the hill where everyone was talking about tailgating is over by H, so lot C is not going to work. I'll probably leave and come back and try to park in lot N.

Hmmm...we tailgate on the outer edge of lot F. Wish there was some way to get out there. Anyone have a Chiefs parking pass they want to get rid of?

C is the large lot on the east side of Arrowhead. The back would be out around Dubner Circle (the road that goes around the complex). I think it is the lot that has the walking tunnel down to lot L.

luv 07-07-2010 01:43 PM

I wonder if I could get option 3 prepaid and park in the grass? I could park out where I know we tailgate to insure no one steals our spot.

CaliforniaChief 07-07-2010 01:46 PM

I'm so excited to watch the Chiefs game on TV...but I gotta be honest, there's a small part of me that is actually thinking of finding a way to try and be there for both the baseball and football games. It's becoming one of those bucket list things. Finances suck and it's the busiest time of the year, but MAN what an opportunity!

I dunno, it didn't sound like they were being very flexible last year with parking. I guess I don't necessarily need to be parked right with everyone else but I don't want to have to drag my cooler, chair etc all over the parking lot either.

Will do, but I'm not 100% that I am going, even though I have tickets to both games already. I have a friggin' class that night and I haven't yet decided if I'm going to skip it or not. More than likely I will since I have to get Buck's ass back to Omaha the next day so he can catch a flight.

lol...no, not AA. At least not yet. I'm taking some HVAC classes this fall at the local CC. What makes me mad is if the NFL would start the fugging season on Labor Day weekend like they used to this wouldn't even be an issue since there aren't classes on the holiday.

It seems to me that this parking pass thing will fix the biggest part of the logistical nightmare anyway.

Bugeater 07-07-2010 03:47 PM

Actually, if they're opening the lot for Chiefs parking at 3:30, I may just show up then and catch the last half of the Royals game and not have to move my car or be stuck in lot C.

Yep, and I think Warpath was the one who called it earlier in the thread. I definitely don't want to be stuck on the east side of the stadium.

Old Dog 07-07-2010 03:50 PM

OK, maybe I'm being obtuse, but their little schematic says that lot H (I think that is the one most of you are talking about) will be cleared after teh Royals game for all that don't have a Chiefs parking pass......if you bought the 2-fer thing you would have one. It just doesn't sound too complicated to me.

No, the 2-fer thing is option 3, which puts you in lot C. Lot H is a reserved lot, I suppose if I had a Red pass I could park there for the Royals game and then stay there, but I don't have one. I'd have to park in one of the cash lots. Then again, we parked on the grass by lot H last time, not in the lot itself, and I'd assume you wouldn't need a pass for that. But this was several years ago and I know it's not the free for all it used to be.

For what? This isn't completely in the Chiefs' control since there is another entity involved. They probably had no idea at the time what exactly was going to happen.

Heck, it's actually great for the people who are only going to the Chiefs game because you can get in 6 hrs of tailgating.

I think I'm going to spend the morning at the casino playing poker, and plan on getting to Arrowhead at 3:30 to start tailgating - then I can park wherever the **** I please.

Even more bullshit that people buying single game tickets will have access to better seats.

I talked to a rep yesterday, and you can still get season tickets in row 2 or 3 in every upper deck end zone section at that end of the field.

So (most of) our group books in advance and has to buy another ticket, while some slapdick Jackson County resident can buy seats in the 3rd ****ing row of the same section we're in.

It doesn't surprise me that they didn't offer the better seats for a group plan early on, they were willing to sit on them in hopes that someone would buy the season tickets. That's a business decision.

With that said, if that slapdick Jackson County resident doesn't have to buy an additional ticket for that seat, that's when I blow a head gasket.

I guess there won't be any Jackson County residents in our group?

The group spending $2500 to attend two games? **** you.

The JC resident that gets a better seat and only has to pay for one game?

**** you, Chiefs.

A group like ours should have the opportunity to have their seat location upgraded the day before single game seats go onsale. Otherwise, there's no benefit to buying this far in advance, only to be sitting 10 rows back of where we could be.

Just do what I did. I bought tickets from the Frank White Classic site (proceeds help a local high school). I got tickets for less than half the price the Royals are selling them for. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago, and got row K on first base side.

I think that season ticket holders should get access to as many extra single games seats for "premium" games as they have season tickets before county residents, many of whom simply buy these and then scalp them, but that's just my .02

Isn't the JC resident paying taxes for the stadium?

Who gives a shit? They've had an opportunity to buy tickets, just like everyone else to this point - either become a STH or buy as part of a group.

Does someone who wants to buy season tickets get offered shittier seats if they aren't a JC resident?

Nope. The Chiefs give them the best seat available in the area they choose.

In our case, the Chiefs are basically telling a group of fans that just shelled out over $2500 that their business isn't that important.

I shouldn't be surprised, considering the shitty customer service Nzoner and KCFish dealt with getting this thing organized.

again that WASNT the deal that the voters who are funding the stadium agreed upon

There was verbiage in the deal that guaranteed JC residents better seats than what was sold prior to the general public sale?

You ask for an opinion of what SHOULD be done. I gave mine. If you don't want an honest answer, why ask the question? I KNOW what the deal IS, I didn't like it then and don't like it now.

probably not, BUT if you wanted better seats you should have fought for them when the group bought the tickets. are they letting people that actually bought season tickets already upgrade their seats BEFORE they go on sale to the JC res?

i'm asking that because i dont know.

and whats wrong with saving some good seats for the people that you know are actually PAYING for the upgrades?

Chiefs have always let JC residents get first crack at single game tickets, this is nothing new.

Which is it?

It was either voted on that better seats would be set aside for JC residents to buy during the single game purchasing dates, or it wasn't voted on - yet you keep claiming it's part of the deal.

True. I know they have been for quite some time, don't know when it started, but unlike what he's saying it didn't start with the renovation vote.

That's not what's being argued.

Yes, JC residents have always had the first opportunity to buy any REMAINING tickets to single games.

I've never been witness to them setting aside better seats for the general public sale, however - and that is what I'm arguing.
