I just figure if I'm already going to drive down there to play on Sunday, it's a waste of time to drive back up to STJ just to drive back down Monday.

Just checked.....with plane tickets, hotel and a rental car.......it comes out to $634.03. That's staying at Ameristar too.

I have no idea, but anyone looking to get rooms at Ameristar should probably book them sooner rather than later, as I believe they fill pretty quickly on an everyday weekend, much less a weekend of opening night Monday night football.

I live literally 5 minutes from Ameristar. Flopnuts, OTWP, Pest, Buck, maybe Adam, who knows who else...... Holy Christ, this could get ugly. :)

From Ameristar, you're closer to Arrowhead than the airport, but it's no sweat making the trek to the airport from there. You actually have a couple of different routes you can take and be there in the 20-25 minute range.....

Yeah, I ****ed up by not booking a month ago when rooms were $89 for Sunday and Monday.

Now it's like $130 per.

They are charging $250 for Friday and Saturday.

Oh....and the $240 for the two nights is through Hotels.com if anyone wants to know. If you try and book through the actual Ameristar website.....it's going to cost you over $300 for the two nights.

Yeah, it's bullshit, but that's their money nights. It's worse for the one in St. Louis - we checked for a weekend, and according to the wife, it was 200+ a night. Hopefully, she got her facts messed up somehow with that figure. Still, sounds like you snagged an OK to decent deal....

Well....my hotel is booked for the 12th-14th. I got the two nights for $239.00.

Ameristar is probably the best casino KC has to offer, really. Argosy is super nice, but smallish (and I have NEVER walked out of that place with winnings. Nev-uh), Harrah's is OK, but smaller than Argosy, and Isle of Capri is, well, I couldn't tell you, other than really small. Plus as mentioned, Ameristar makes their own beers that I for one really dig. And, that's not mentioning the assorted restaurants they have. Nothing super fancy, but good. I do recommend the steakhouse (whose name escapes me at the moment). You will enjoy it.

Oh, and there is an Arthur Bryants there for your BBQ fix, if you so desire....

They're nice. That's one area Argosy destroys Ameristar - their rooms are fantastic. But Ameristar's are just fine - stocked fridge, big shower, big TV, comfortable beds....

I'll throw a little change down, but I'm not going to watch the next three months worth of mortgage go bye bye. A couple of buddies talked about doing the Royals and the Chiefs game both, but we came to the conclusion that it would be too much, especially if they go along with the plans of kicking everyone out of the parking lot that doesn't have the combo parking pass. It'd be fun, but just too much of a hassle. Besides, I don't want to be incoherrent and/or already hanging over when the Chiefs game starts.

Yeah....I think I might pass on the Royals game. I'm going to want to sleep in and then be able to tailgate for a while. It'll be too rushed if I'm going from the Royals game to the tailgaiting and then to the Chiefs game. Plus the Royals suck and it's not like they're playing the Dodgers.

No. A guy got on here, chiefschargersmnf, looking for info about the game, tickets, tailgating, etc. I got to talking with him on facebook. A group of them (usually four) do "Epic" trips every year. They visit a city where they can attend two sporting events at while they're there, take in the local atmosphere, etc. One of them is a huge Chiefs fan. Home opener seemed like a no-brainer to come to, especially with the Royals being in town at that time too.

I said that I'm pretty sure that a handful of people are invited to the 'gate I am attending, Miracle Ear. Not "everyone". LMAO
