Congrats Eric Berry and Pioli for pulling the trigger. |

Derrick Thomas was something i tell you, then again i am different, i prefer defense over offense in football and A pitchers duel over a slugfest in baseball. |

This shit is getting out of hand. |
Honestly, Ed Reed is going to pitch a fit tonight in Baltimore.
I'm not complaining one bit about this deal. He's a gamechanging asskicker who we desperately needed. |
Now on to the next question..... will he beat out Jon McGraw?

he probably won't practice but he should be there. |
Didn't see this anywhere:
Per espn.com: KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Safety Eric Berry, the fifth overall pick in last spring's draft, and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a deal, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The deal is for six years and worth a maximum $60 million, of which $34 million is guaranteed, sources said. A spokesman for the Chiefs said until the club announced something, there is nothing official. But Berry tweeted Friday: "Bout to head to St. Joe!!! Aka the deals done." Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. Posted via Mobile Device |

Highest paid safety in the League.

****ing tightwad Hunt never opens the purse strings for anybody.
(sweet!) |
Everyone on time to training camp. A good sign.
|
No Berry yet...
Eric Berry wasn't on the practice field when the Chiefs started around 2 p.m. Friday. http://chiefsblog.kansascity.com/?q=node/1351 |
Good stuff.
Even if he misses a day, no biggie. |
That's great news. Here's hoping everyone makes it through camp healthy :grovel:

Thank God Pioli doesn't think that it's important to have the "Tough SOB Negotiator" tag. Get these ****ers paid and get them on the field, ASAP.
Big improvement over Carl's posturing. |
Good news.

then there is also the guaranteed contract in baseball which leads to players coasting for much of their career. rookie slotting should be in the next CBA ... football still has the best system. |

The NBA is the best. |

I only say that because there are no guarantees. We've seem either boom or busts. If the guy pans out, great. If not, as an organization, the best prospect coming out of the draft that you depend on to make your team better, can set you back from both a personnel and financial standpoint. Kinda puts organizations in a bit of a landslide. I'd like to see that economical aspect of the game change. Im more in the thought of, give rookies a certain flat base salary and reward them afterwards based on what they do later on in their careers. |

Who knows what endorsement contracts are like. It wouldn't surprise me if they're every bit outrageous. |

there really isn't an official slot system in baseball either ... occasionally players try and bust out of the "standard" dollars. if you are talking about draft only then the NBA is the best. |

This is old news. Someone had already started a thread this morning that Berry would sign today.

Coming from a Broncos' and Tennessee fan, Eric Berry is the most dominant player I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Could he bust? Sure, anyone can bust. But I'd put money on the hall of fame.
I'm actually thinking of coming to Kansas City for a Chief's game this year. The girlfriend asked if she had to wear Broncos' gear, I told her no, as long as it has to do with Eric Berry. |

But if he has a nice pro bowl laden 10 year career, i will be happy. |
The NBA has the most fair system when it comes to salaries, but I can't fukn stand all the trades. They shouldn't even say the team, just X player went Y overall.
The ticker on ESPN was a disaster during the NBA draft "#15 (from Charlotte via Chicago) Drederick Tatum (rights traded to Miami via San Antonio)" |
:bravo:

Of course, I think they should get paid what they're worth and all. I don't think it's the responsibility of the NFL to make up for the blatant exploitation the players go through in NCAA. But from a perspective of whether or not I think it's "right" for a rookie to get a big chunk of change, I am fine with it. |

Should the really rich NFL players get more money, or should it go to the ultra rich owners? Why should I care?

He's no Mike Brown...................................................I keed........I keed.........
Good work FO.. |

the salary cap number is the same, it's just whether the money should be paid to draftees or saved for veterans |
