Maybe, just maybe, Dumervil can now help Thomas learn how to run routes before practice. I'm sure Elvis worked as a WR or some shit in midget football so he could give him some pointers.

ESPN reporting that Dumervil has torn his pectoral muscle, out indefinitely.

Best case scenario, out 4 months.

Just resting up and doing MONSTER fly reps with his working pectoral. When he comes back, that pec's gonna be so strong he won't even need his torn one. In fact, he'll probably come back in 4 weeks. He'll have a better hump move than Reggie White ever had with his SuperPec in place. /knowshit

Sources: Elvis Dumervil out indefinitely

By Adam Schefter
ESPN
Archive

Denver Broncos linebacker Elvis Dumervil suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Wednesday's practice that will sideline him indefinitely, according to league sources.

Dumervil is expected to miss about four months, which means he might be able to return late this season.

Dumervil is going for another opinion to get a more specific idea of how much time he would miss so the Broncos can figure out how to best handle the situation.

With Dumervil out, Denver will need to get production out of two former No. 1 picks, Jarvis Moss and Robert Ayers.

Dumervil, who had an NFL high and team-record 17 sacks last season, signed a five-year, $58.332 million extension last month.

Adam Schefter is ESPN's NFL Insider. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

This does not mean Denver's season is over. Our passrush will take a huge hit but we can still make it to the playoffs. The Chiefs season will be over by week 4 and you guys can get back to your draft discussions again.

Buck 08-05-2010 10:03 AM

He also said it could "Very well end his season."

Yeah, and you are saying that your team is great, despite losing your only defensive stud. And I use the term stud lightly.

Iowanian 08-05-2010 10:08 AM

So far Denver lost it's #1 WR in the offseason, It's LT, starting RB and now best pass rusher.

I'm not going to cheer injuries, but it couldn't happen to a nicer team.

DBOSHO 08-05-2010 10:09 AM

How will denver make it to the playoffs when they couldnt do it last year WITH the leagues sack leader, an all-pro wr, and a year younger champ and dawkins?

especially since they could start a rookie qb at some point.

the chiefs have better players at virtually every position except maybe LB and QB.

It's pretty much over. Denver just lost their top pass rusher for almost, if not, the entire season. The worst player to lose on that defense. You better hope Moss or Ayers steps up huge, and I mean huge, or Denver's season is in the toilet.

The entire team was learning a new offensive system and most of the defense last year never played in a 3-4 last year. Losing one player for half the season does not ruin our season.

I guess KnowMo will not be that entertaining this year. The Broncos just fell off the map today.

DaFace 08-05-2010 10:23 AM

I know that injuries are typically just flukes, but it's astounding to see where the Broncos are today versus when Shanny got canned. There is literally NO ONE on that team that scares opposing teams. The closest they have are Champ and Dawkins, who are both on the decline. Dumervil might have been up there, but now...

It'll be interesting to see where they end up this season, because on paper they look to be in pretty bad shape this year.

(And no, I'm not saying that the Chiefs are in that much better shape, but at least Charles is a little scary.)
