No, no. It's a field goal, then a free extra point given to the away team because we were winning by so much. It's a new rule.

Cassel will have even less time to throw than usual. It's going to be very tough to sustain drives running the ball.

Special teams and defense will be the keys for the Chiefs again.

You mean less than the 5 seconds or more that he's been getting most of this season?

GoChiefs is right. Most of us on here seem so frightened after watching the 49ers against the Saints. Yeah, that was in SF. When the 49ers travel they are a horrible, horrible team. Like I've been saying over the last 8 games on the road for SF they are 1-7 and that only win came against the Rams. And the 49ers are winless when Vernon Davis has big games of either 7 catches or more, 100 or more receiving yards, and 2 or more TD's. Stopping Davis shouldn't be the focus. If anything shut down Frank Gore, and offensively Cassel needs to make some uncharacteristic throws while Jamaal Charles sees far more touches than usual.

The Chiefs will win this game. It looks scary on paper, but when you look deeper, the Chiefs have everything in their favor.

Frightened because of the Saints game.

No.

it has more to do with the fact that the Chiefs have scored one TD on offense, that was set up by the defense on a fumble return to the 12, and 4 FGs, one of which was set up by Arenas with a return to the 25(?), and the offense didn't really capitalize on that filed position.

This offense is anemic, to this point, and expecting it to break out against a solid 9er defense is almost delusional.

Hammock Parties 09-25-2010 10:44 PM

They have scored two TD on offense.

Say the Chiefs win, what do the announcers use as an excuse to say we don't deserve it. Alex Smith admires Cassel's contract so he tried to emulate him is my guess. HAHA!

This will be one another game where our defense plays extremely well, special teams sets up great field position all game long, we force a couple turnovers and only win because they miss a field goal or two.

The Saints looked off in their opener as well as the SF game. I think they're in for a serious let down. For that reason, I am not scared by the 9ers' near victory. One great drive against a team that hasn't played that well this season does not make Alex Smith a great QB suddenly. I think he'll shit his pants when he has to deal wtih Arrowhead's 12th man.

And do you really think your opinion matters to me on a website? Get over yourself man, I am here to talk about the Chiefs not impress you so get off my dick and continue about your miserable way. The 49ers, and NFC teams in general, rarely play well at Arrowhead when the Chiefs are competitive. We're 2-0, our defense is kicking ass, and Alex Smith sucks. Arrowhead is going to be rocking and we're healthy and on the upswing, with room to improve.

Matt Cassel, Dwayne Bowe, Jamaal Charles, Chris Chambers, Tony Moeaki, Thomas Jones, Dexter McCluster, Tamba Hali, Eric Berry...they're all lying in the weeds, waiting to have their breakout game. I think most of them are going to go off.

We're going to rip off the 49ers' heads and shit down their necks.

This game will be over by halftime.

Complete and total domination. This ass kicking will be on par with the 41-0 shellacking we laid on San Francisco in 2006. It COULD even approach the 44-9 destruction of 1997.

You heard it here first.

We're a powder keg, and this week we EXPLODE.

The nice thing about this years chiefs - they are developing a new culture....one where they expect to continue to improve...and more importantly, not to give up the big play or blow a game in the final quarter. In the first two games, if this was last years team, the chargers and browns come away with a win.

The confidence is starting to show....sort of like how hitting is contagious in baseball...it's fun to watch this defense EXPECT to stop the other team.

Whatever happens the rest of the year....I'm excited for the future of this franchise. We have a TON of young talent on this team....and now, with the right mixture of coaching staff, they will be given the opportunities to succeed!

That's weaksauce.

Back in 2007, when we were 4-3 and headed for good times, I made a midseason highlight video. It was fun.

Might do that again this year if we're in first place. But three games ain't enough.

There will, however, be a short video for wins like today's.

Same here. My great quote of the week just said that San Fran was far more likely to look like they did in Seattle on Sunday, than they looked on MNF in their home opener. Spot on too. That doesn't happen often. :D
