Some betting sites are already reporting Bowe as doubtful for Sunday with an ankle injury. He was definitely limping in lockerroom on Sunday

Cortizone, ibprofin, and a dick ton of tape. That dude better sack up and play.

Bowe at 70% is still much better than anyone else we have at WR.

70%? You can cut his arms off and he'd still be our best receiver.

This would take our chances of winning from about 20% to 2%. Huge loss if this is true.

I'm so glad that Haley left the starters in after the game was out of hand against the Raiders.

Good point. Heard on 105.7 this morning that Reed is doubtful. Not that it makes up for the loss of Bowe if true..

Chiefs Pantalones 01-05-2011 01:23 PM

The only thing besides injury that I can think of this being is that they are putting in some new wrinkles that they don't want the media to see. But they can do that in the closed portion of practice. I don't know.

If I remember correctly it was a sideline catch late in the game.

I am probably wrong though.

That's what I'm saying. I never saw him get hurt. He was in there with the backups until the end and didn't walk off injured.

Plus if I were making the line, with this announcement, to cover my ass I would go ahead and list him as doubtful. It would make people wanting to bet on the Ravens a little more weary and make no one really want to bet on the Chiefs. If it is announced that Bowe is fine the line will change just as quickly as it did after this announcement. Better safe than sorry.

I do remember Nick Wright saying that he was badly limping in the locker room.

There is no reason that him, Charles or Cassel should have been in the game.

There was speculation of an endzone (attempt) or sideline catch where he landed on his tailbone and limped into the locker room with a trainer. But now we are hearing about his ankle, not sure just all I have read through out the various Chiefs sites.

If some of were just coming down with it on gameday, it could have slowed them down but it wouldn't have been something that would have shown up on the injury report.

I hope they all sneezed on the Raiders' players.

You referring to his 72 receptions for 1162 yards or his 6 drops all season?

Edit: Or maybe his league leading 15 touchdown receptions?

No that doesn't make sense either.

Hey, if Pioli and Haley had a history of being forthcoming about this stuff, I would be relaxed.

It's hard to take this at face value though, especially when it was reported right after the game that he was limping badly.

I'm far from a pessimistic person on this stuff though, and I think my posting history would show that.

What does limping badly after the game have to do with anything? Willie Roaf could barely walk but when it came to gameday he was one of the most mobile linesman on the field.

Well, I have to admit, living in Maryland* I'd never seen that quote from Nick until it popped up in today's thread.

However, (inserting opinion here) I think Nick W. tends to see what he wants to see if it'll make a better story . . . Not saying he makes things up but he can be "dramatic".

Not unlike a certain poster whom I have on ignore who likes to stir the crap.

*edited to add, living here, I tend to ignore most of the radio/newspaper articles that come out of KC. I'm highly unimpressed with what you guys have to suffer through as far as sports reporting/talk if what's posted here serves as a typical example.

Great Insight! Thanks for playing!

Do you honestly think that if Bowe were to NOT play, we would have a decent chance?

Even if Bowe plays we will need to play a very clean game / near perfect. That's the point I was trying to make..

And this is wrong. KC matches up well with the Ravens. If KC plays like they did for every game other than @den @SD and vs Oak we have a good chance of a victory.

Yeah, Wright was talking about this yesterday, well before today's practice. If it was just something he threw out today, then I wouldn't think anything of it.

I'm sure I am looking at the worst possible outcome here, probably because of the Cassel appendectomy being called an illness earlier in the season.

Yes it is serious. Just because he was limping after the game it does not mean he has a serious injury or any injury at all.

Am I saying he is not injured? No. All I am saying is that what was perceived to be an issue after 3 hours of football on Sunday afternoon may not be an issue at all.

Even if he is hurt I am sure he would have it so juiced up before the game on Sunday that he would not know he was hurt until it wears off.

Painkillers and steroids can do wonders.

As I said before, I have no idea if he is injured or not. I do know that he shouldn't have been in last week's game against the Raiders in garbage time.

And, one of the toughest players in the league, Andre Johnson, missed the final two weeks of the season with an ankle injury after he was able to play the entire game in week 15.

He was also seen limping badly in the locker room after that game.
