You guys are blowing this way the **** out of proportion.
Nobody even argued about the chiefs or Todd Haley. Whitlock argued that Pioli deserves credit for the way the team is being built. He mentioned that includes staying away from players that aren't from solid families. The entire argument was about the extent to which "The Patriot Way" includes staying away from typical hip hop thug punks from single parent homes. It's well known the Patriot Way is very very distraction averse. JB and the rest of the guys on the set then went off on their PC tirade but Whitlock was a lot more right then wrong. Sapp isn't a patriots type player. He was a loudmouth, controversial bullshitter, dopesmoker etc. He was hard to coach and there are multipe reports he's nearly impossible to work with. Whitlock said Desean Jackson is a good example of the type of player the Pats stay away from. Great player but what happens when he gets his second contract? The entire argument was Whitlock being realistic and the rest of the crew not liking how the realism sounded wrt to racial stereotypes etc. |
Whitlock should just convert to a full time race-relations columnist, and stop pretending he knows thing one about football.
|
So Whitlock parlayed his column about Haley into radio and TV appearances.
The discussion was too unfocused, Whitlock wanted to talk his nonsense about how Haley was anointed to head coach because his dad was a talent scout as if Haley had not been an assistant for 10+ years. And then they bounced around to all the different ideas Whitlock has had over the years. I am really uncomfortable with Whitlock trying to praise Pioli for taking a player's character into account in building a team, but then Whitlock himself defining character as depending on whether the player had a dad in the home. Pioli assesses character but he does that by asking people that know the player about how the player treats people. Pioli does not rule out a player because the mother had the player out of wedlock. So, Whitllock writes a nonsense article where he makes an outlandish critcism of Haley because he needs some exposure for his failing career and then he lies about Pioli who is supposedly praising. Good for Whitlock that he begged his way into some exposure, unfortunately for him, exposure is a chance for him to blow it and he will blow it because he takes after mama and writes and talks in the feminine way. If he was on NFL Network, Deion would ask to check his mancard because Whitlock has "too much wiggle in the hips" when he writes. |
Fatlock's severance settlement from the KC Star must be running low. He must have stuffed most of it into various G Strings by now.
He's actually having to try to promote his fat ass again. It's the same old "stir the pot" schtick. That's all this is. Do you find it interesting that he would come into the CP, and Arrowhead Pride, and who knows what other Chiefs chat sites, and also beg for airtime on 610 during the ramp up to the Chiefs playoff run? Only problem is, he's no longer relevant (if he ever was relevant). Hard to report on the Chiefs from your couch, although that never stopped him when he was on the KC Star payroll. I'm sure after the playoffs he'll come up with some outrageous, inflammatory BS about KU Basketball to try to push himself onto some radio interviews and get some face time exposure come NCAA tournament time. Funny how he brought all this stuff up during playoff week, when interest in the Chiefs is at a season peak. Coincidence? Errrrrrr......NOPE. |
Very truthy, guys. Very truthy, indeed.
I agree that, in a sane and rational world, Whittles would be irrelevant. And, I think he would be even now if it weren't for the fact that he throws so much crap against the wall that some of it begins to stick. It's like Roswell and the government's absurd attempts to pretend that aliens didn't crash there, when we all know they did and we captured the live one and froze his gray, trespassing ass. Mike Florio is already parroting Whittles' ridiculous claim that Haley is too "insecure" to hire McDisaster as OC. Right, Florio. Got a source on that? Why don't you tell us how Oswald acted alone? FAX |
Whitlock = Maury Povich........ or Mart0n Downey Jr.

So Whitlock got a couple more threads started on CP to discuss him? Somewhere he is lurking and smiling, mission accomplished.

Watched it today. Nothing to see here. Move along. |

It was just boring. Whitlock is boring. |

This was a lot more about discrediting Haley than it was crediting Pioli. And Whitlock is dead wrong. Dwayne Bowe and DJ were two formerly uncoachable players who are finally realizing their promise. And if the players hated Haley so much, then why would DJ and Charles sign extensions despite very productive seasons? He's full of shit. Period. |

Well when his stance is "HAley could win the SB and it won't change my mind" there's nothing more to discuss. He's just a closed minded asshole. He also gets caught contradicting himself over and over again.
As someone noted, he wishes he were JoPo, and the only reason he is where he is, is because he's black. Instead of Big Sexy he should rename himself Token. |

Fatlock went the way of Sperm Edwards, King Carl, and the rest of the loser population that roamed One Arrowhead Drive. Away........!

Only KC Chiefs message boards are even talking about Whitlock on inside the NFL. In other forums i visit, i dont see not one damn mention about it.
All he did was stir shit up in K.C and no where else. |

I suppose Whittles is "talented" ... maybe. A lot of people seem to think so, anyhow.
For me, though, it's very difficult to get past the absolutely inane subjects and opinion and appreciate the writing beneath. I have to say, however, that his last article (the Haley is a baby one) didn't seem particularly well-written, either from the standpoint of syntactic maturity or fluency. Is it possible that many Star readers believe him to be talented simply because he compares well to the alternative pap? FAX |
Wow... just had a chance to watch Whitlock's meltdown on Inside the NFL... that has to be one of the most pathetic public displays he's ever had.
First Whitlock claimed that Pioli only wants players from "traditional" "two-parent households", then when pressed on that he back-tracked to say "households with a strong male role model", then when pressed on that back-tracked again to say "players who aren't from the hip-hop culture". I have been a fan of Whitlock's work when he was at the KC Star calling out Dictator Carl... but his Inside the NFL showing was pathetic. |

Damn. My distaste for Whitlock has peaked to heretofore unparalleled levels.
He should thank his lucky stars that the Public Figure Doctrine requires "actual malice". Undoubtedly that's why he prefaces his libel with the whole "I like Todd Haley personally" deal. Some mullethead is going to kick his ass, though. FAX |
I'm one of Whitlock's bigger critics, but aside from his repeating all the Haley blather, I thought the majority of the first 10 minutes was good TV. Great discussion. Jason wasn't a tool. And the guys were over-reacting a bit to Jason's rather measured remarks. Which were ultimately a (slight) misrepresentation of what Pioli believes.
Mike Lombardi added a lot. I loved learning that the Pats try to trade down in the draft to ensure that they don't have a rookie being the highest paid player on the team. Loved the "Sapp going to the Raiders" crack! :) |

finally seen this, the only thing that i thought was remotely wtf was when he said Sapp was hard to Coach, i think Sapp got mad at first, but got over it by the end of the show.
I dont know what the **** people were watching when they were talking about Jason getting pummeled. They were sooo off. |
Whitlock is an idiot!!!
|
Whitlock getting flamed? Typical CP. The guy participated on one of the best Inside the NFL episodes I have seen.
|
at first it bugged me how quickly they dropped off of talking about Haley and the Chiefs but I think that was actually a good thing.

That was a very odd interview. Started off with Haley being a fraud and morphing into Pioli's preference to take draft picks who had a strong male role model in their life. Jason clearly knows nothing about the entire Pioli draft pick model. It then morphs into Jason's own view on draft picks. Meanwhile Collinsworth is too afraid to read Huck Finn because he'll be called a racist.
|
This confirmed basically everything I've ever thought about this idiot, except for one thing.
He does NOT take the controversial angle on purpose to get exposure. He's just a ****ing moron who gets exposure because he talks about race. |
Actually, I thought it was a really interesting episode, and except for the Haley take, the rest was just stuff you don't hear people say...and Jason actually handled himself pretty well...he just got himself a job. I still can't really stand the guy, but this episode was not what it was cracked up to be in the OP.
|
Shocker that Fritz sides with Whitlock.
|
Whitlock is still a big fat douchebag. I find it hard to believe that even HE believes some of the shit that comes out of his mouth.
Whenever somebody starts a sentence with "I love the guy, BUT ....", you know he hates the guy. |

Ok finally saw the show, Whitlock is an idiot the cast on the show did make him look like a buffoon.
But to all those that feel he handled himself maybe he did until the jeff George comment of being an elite passer. Collinsworth rolled his eyes, sapp laughed, phill Simms said you have to complete passes to your receivers to be considered elite. The you should come back was them being polite I remember Joe buck stating Artie Lang should come back too on the Joe buck show. However whit thought it was an offer as I stated before what a buffoon. |
They want him back because they enjoy a good laugh too.
