The Chiefs should no problem stopping the Patriots TE's because that's a strength of the Chiefs defense, right? Right?

aturnis 09-18-2011 11:02 PM

Ferentz won't be leaving Iowa this year. His son is a junior on the team. He also has a 16 yr. old. Pretty sure he'll stay around Iowa City.

Pioli Zombie 09-18-2011 11:04 PM

After the game in the locker room Cassel threw out a challenge to his teammates but it was batted in the air and intercepted.

Okie_Apparition 09-18-2011 11:06 PM

Katie Horner looked into his eyes while he was storming around on the sideline. She just yawned & walked away

Fat Bastard. "Ya know when ya go into an apartment building and someones cookie something and ya go what's that? That plus Cassel!"

I don't see him leaving Iowa either. He's getting good pay and has a lot more stability in Iowa City than he'd ever have in Kansas City.

Pioli Zombie 09-18-2011 11:21 PM

Michelle Bachmann is Haley in drag. I think they are the same person and that **** is coaching the Chiefs.

The Franchise 09-18-2011 11:23 PM

I'll take Rob Ryan.

Predarat 09-19-2011 05:38 AM

Pioli, Haley and Castle need to get into a gunfight like the one at the end of Reservoir Dogs where they all end up killing each other to death.

McGraw can't even tell when he's supposed to be on the field.

GET BACK ON DEFENSE WHERE YOU CAN FUMBLE AND NOT MAKE INTERCEPTIONS OR TACKLE.

Yea, he is just god awful. I seriously cannot believe we didn't bring in Sharper. How much worse could Sharper POSSIBLY be...

Getting piss pounded in the first 2 games is bad.

Losing 3 of our best players is bad.

I basically agree here. If everyone continues to drop 50 on us then yes Haley is in jeopardy. I re-watched the beginning of the game and we were moving the ball the game was competitive until the missed field at the end of the first quarter. With Charles down and both kickers looking horrible its like they let the air out of the tires.

Then 6 turnovers later...

Yep. Also all the early penalities really helped extend scoring drives for Detroit. I was surprised they were "only" down 17-3 right before half.

Yeah the first quarter didn't look to bad all things considered. That being said, shit happens and if you can't adjust then you just aren't good enough. Hell, all teams have rough points or bad breaks, they don't lose by 30+ 2 straight games.

I am a big Haley fan and think firing him while sticking with Cassel would be a gigantic mistake.

They need to prep Stanzi to start after the bye and draft Luck.

lol why prep stanzi if u wanna draft luck make no sense btw people luck is no sure thing he has david carr written all over him,so what being a standout against low level schools makes u nfl ready.......i think not

What's sad......

Well I'll tell you.

We'll listen to these rumors all year through a dismal season. At the end of this season, Haley will be fired and Cassel will either be cut or will redo his contract. The Chiefs have the number 1 pick in the draft, trade down to #3 and take the 5th rated Left OT.

Or win enough games to drop to the sixth pick and take Justin Blackmon because once again it's not Cassel it's the players, or lack thereof, around him.

That would be exactly why you would prep Stanzi is because no rookie QB is a sure thing. We can double our odds by letting Stanzi and Luck battle it out. We are in stand still waiting for the real guy mode every single minute that Cassel plays.

buy low sell high, GB made their franchise that way in the 90's, which is a big reason why Favre never missed a game because of Brunell was in the wings. Which is why it's good to be two deep at QB position

Agreed. If we decide to give up on Haley then the last thing I want is another retread. We had the right idea of getting a young first time HC. Haley is still in the wait and see period of his tenure here and I think last season should have bought him some points and the mess with the lockout should have as well but this team right now is looking worse than even our 2008 team and nothing that bad can be allowed to survive.

Ace Gunner 09-19-2011 01:58 PM

Watching the post game presser now. Haley says he's going to make "big changes this week" and I really think he's going to tell Cassel to siddown.

That kind of thinking will lead to a headache because its not going to happen this soon. His big change will probably be taking over play calling and having the same success as Muir because they are both idiots.

Cassel wont be benched until after the BYE.

Rumors

Pretty sad that the season has come to this. I thought that an 8-8 finish would have been a disappointment but understandable...considering the increased difficulty of the schedule.

0-16 could actually happen. I don't blame the problem on injuries. McGraw did fairly well considering the shoes he tried to fill. It comes down to coaching and preparation. I don't know what is going on. This is awful.

Green Bay is a small market that constantly wins. We should look at their example and model. We don't have to suck.

Without reading the entire thread, I would like to give a great big shout out to Aunt Wilma who predicted that Matt Cassel would become the most hated man in the entire Midwest before striking Uncle Merris betwixt the eyebrows with a wooden soup spoon.

I don't see how anybody could be pissed off at Haley. Sure, his approach to the game is ... different. Sure, he takes calculated risks. Sure, he has no clear idea how to shave or comb his hair, but he took over a giant pile of crap and turned it into something better.

He can't win with Cassel. We know it and he knows it. The fact is that nobody can or could (except for the Pats who had an entire system and team established before they called his number). I have no doubt in my mind that he despises Cassel and would rather drink opossum urine than suit him up. Cassel is Pioli's problem ... not Haley's.

Nick Athens of Warpaint.Com was just interviewed on 1620 Omaha.
He said Haley will be fired during the by week.
He went to talk about how hard the Chiefs are scouting Luck, the demise of Haley after he took away the play calling from Charlie. The risk KC took after the lock out was over. How they are not in condition, prepared, ect
40+ million under the cap, & how he hopes John Gruden is named head coach next year.
He named many coaches from Iowa's head coach to the Ravens old coach Billick.

Oh, I'm not saying that Haley won't or even might not fall on the sword Cassel calls his penis. He very well may.

What I'm saying is that, if he does, it would be patently unfair. Cassel is dysfunction incarnate. The problem here isn't Haley's ability to HC an NFL team, it's Haley's ability to HC an NFL team with Cassel at the helm.

Honestly, unless you're the NE Patriots with an established, entrenched, solid, successful team (O, D, and STs), Cassel brings little or nothing to the table.

In fact (and at the risk of sounding too much like Mr. milkman), I said it at the time; franchising Cassel was one of the shrewdest personnel moves Wild Bill (or anybody) ever made. It created the impression that Cassel was the real deal and elevated his "perceived" value across the league as a legitimate quarterback. That, my friend, is the myth of Cassel. When, in actuality, Bill stuck it to his old padna like a Navy Seal's schlong in a Chinese lesbian's patoot.
