Well, I certainly do expect to win. But I've seen more than one young/raw/rookie QB give the Pats defense trouble over the years, and that was before this very inconsistent bunch of nobodies that we're rolling out there now. |

Mr. Fax should know that CP only likes QB's who are first round draft picks. -Sincerely Tom Brady. Personally I think everyone deserves a fair chance to show what they have got. When it falls apart, rinse and repeat. Cassel fell apart at the end of last season and should've been replaced in the offseason. Due to the lockout, I can see why we went into this season with him... but next season there is no excuse for Pioli. |

I still don't understand the Palko hate, though. Looking at his record at Pitt ... it's actually kind of impressive. Then, he gets no love from the NFL at draft time and floats around forever. He must love the game, though, because he's stuck around. The book on him is that he's smart, knows the game, and works his ass off constantly ... not bad characteristics. I don't understand why we're supposed to hate him so much at this point. FAX |

I think Palko may do a better job of hitting receivers in stride than Cassel, and have the right pace on the ball depending on the type of throw. Cassel makes the receivers adjust to make the catch too much and often does not have the right pace on his throws.
Palko seems to me to have worked hard and I would not be surprised if he does well. I am more interested in seeing him than Ricky Stanzi, at this point. |

Palko wasn't even good in college.
Unless he's gotten a lot better at reading defenses with all his sideline experience, prepare to see a lot of stupid ints. |

Palko needs more carries...

yahoo is actually projecting Palko to get 17 points this week. I would be very surprised if he does that.

Like others have said, I'm just glad someone else is out there now. Watching Cassel every week is bad for your health it makes you in a bad mood lol. I know Palko won't do much better probably but a change was needed. You can't keep banging your head into a brick wall and expect to break through. That's Cassel.

Why do the Chiefs get a Monday night game?
I wish the NFL would of rescheduled this game on a regular Sunday after noon. At least it would prevent this team from being in the spotlight and more importantly save them from the embarrassment. |

http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post...on-tyler-palko
Here are Patriots coach Bill Belichick's thoughts this week on scouting Palko: What do you know about Palko? Belichick: He’s a player we have to do some work on and spend more time watching him. We of course haven’t seen a lot of him in regular season game film. We can go back to preseason. I’d say an athletic player, quick release, can move around back there in the pocket, left-handed, and sees the field pretty well. I think they have a lot of confidence in him. He played ahead of [Ricky] Stanzi this year in preseason and I know Stanzi is a guy they drafted. There’s a lot to like about him too, so we’ll have to be ready for both those guys. Obviously he played well enough to move into that second spot. Again, we all know from the 2008 season here and many other examples of teams we played against. Everybody wrote us off in 2008 when we lost Tom [Brady] and Matt [Cassel] led us to 11 wins. We’re playing against a football team, not just one player. We know that whoever they have in there, whether it’s Palko, Stanzi or whoever it is, that we’re going to have to play a good football team. Again, this is a team that won their division last year. They have good coaches, they’re well coached, they’re disciplined [and] they have good depth. What other avenues can you utilize to get a gauge on his tendencies? Belichick: That’s really all we can do and that’s what we have to do -- we have to look at the film that we have available. Fortunately we have plenty of film available with him in their offense. It’s hard sometimes when you see a player and the only film you have on him is when he’s with another team, running another offense and now you’re trying to project that skill set into an offense that doesn’t match up with the player, but in this case it does. I think any coach that loses a starting quarterback, when you bring in whoever the other quarterback is, you certainly want to play to that player’s strengths to a degree but at the same time you can’t have two different offenses -- one for this guy and one for that guy. It’s impossible, you can’t do that. Obviously to keep the consistency there for the other ten players who are all good players and are playing well, there has to be some carryover for them. Then the quarterback does what the offense requires him to do and you make some modifications for him because of his skill set, but you just can’t change everything that you do because one guy steps onto the field or it kills the other 10 guys. |
Over on Patriot Planet they are calling this game their trap game.

I'm actually kind of excited to see what Palko's got. He's got a little moxie, even if his mechanics are complete garbage.
Hey, at least he started in college. |
I fast forwarded through the debacle on Sunday and watched the Palko drive a few times. I'm cautiously optimistic that he will prove that our whole offense is not broken, that Matt Cassel is in fact the entirety of the problem.
He appeared much more fluid and composed than Cassel. Cassel has to think about what to do, whereas Palko seemed to just naturally react. Again, I think he'll be an improvement. |
Time to truck some Patriots bitches

This would be funny as hell. At least the dude is really, really mobile, because he's gonna be running around a lot. Maybe he'll scramble around and give guys time to get open. |

Do you see me saying it would be a surprise?
We just got done witnessing an 85-yard passing performance and the Chiefs are 28th in passing. Cassel has 10 TDs in 9 games, with 4 coming in one game. If Palko throws for 200 yards a game we will have a full blown QB controversy on our hands. Hell, the only reason the Chiefs aren't dead last in passing is because of Tim Tebow and Blaine Gabbert. |

Between Cassel and Palko? ROFL No freaking way, cut those ****ing losers, Draft a franchise QB and play him. Stanzi plays as a backup. |

Per Wiki...... Oh my.
Professional career New Orleans Saints Palko went undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft before being signed by the New Orleans Saints on April 28, 2007. After the Saints released Palko at their final cut-down, he was signed to the Saints' practice squad. He was then elevated to the 53-man roster for the team's first regular season game, where he was the team's third quarterback. After the game, he was released and re-signed to the team's practice squad. Palko again was promoted to the 53-man roster for the team's second game, and waived after the game. On October 9, 2007, Palko was signed back onto the Saints' practice squad. On December 30, 2007, Palko was signed onto the active roster for the final game of the season, but was declared inactive for the game. Palko was waived by the Saints during final cuts on August 30, 2008. Palko injured his hand after being waived. Arizona Cardinals After spending the 2008 NFL season out of football, Palko was signed to a future contract by the Arizona Cardinals on December 30, 2008. He was waived on September 4, 2009. California Redwoods On September 20, 2009 Palko was signed by the California Redwoods and was later cut during the preseason. Montreal Alouettes In October 2009 he signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League and was placed on their practice roster. He was signed to the active roster on November 2. He was released on November 25, allowing him to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh Steelers Palko was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad on November 25, 2009 after quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Charlie Batch were injured. He was promoted to the active roster on November 28 when Roethlisberger was declared inactive for the team's November 29 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Palko was named the back-up quarterback behind Dennis Dixon. He was released on December 9, 2009. Kansas City Chiefs Palko was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs to a future contract on March 3, 2010. On September 4, 2010, the Chiefs released Palko from the active roster, and on the following day, signed him to the practice squad. He was elevated to the 53-man roster on December 8, 2010. Palko played in in the final minutes of the Oakland-Kansas City game on January 2, 2011. He also played in the final minutes of the Denver-Kansas City game on November 13, 2011. The Chiefs announced that Palko will take over starting quarterback duties against the New England Patriots in week 11 of the 2011 season, following an index finger injury to starting quarterback Matt Cassel. |

So let's say there's an upcoming home game where Palko gets dinged up and Stanzi comes in for a play or so. Does Stanzi get such a big ovation coming in that the team is forced to give him a try, much like the Doncs did in demanding Tebow?

This was pretty interesting ... "Tyler Palko also developed a reputation for making big plays late in games, engineering five victories in the fourth quarter or overtime last year. His most memorable performance came at Notre Dame when he threw five touchdown passes and guided the Pittsburgh Panthers to a pair of late scoring drives to upend the Irish, 41-38. He is the only quarterback to ever throw five touchdowns against Notre Dame. As luck would have it, the Panthers will open their first season under new head coach Dave Wannstedt with a highly anticipated encounter versus Notre Dame." FAX |
haha
In Haleys presser today, he likened Palko to Romo when Haley was back in Dallas. Its too bad we dont have Kris Wilson anymore. He was one of Tylers favorite targets in college IIRC. ROFL |
