So you know, the Haley on TV tonight is the Haley we saw when the cameras were off. Not the robot he had to be to work for the #Chiefs.

Palko took him exactly where he wanted to go, away from Cassel and Pioli.

It's easier to answer questions that aren't based on your own decisions.

Pioli really ****ed up.

My only hope is that Pioli understands that Cassel IS the problem here and corrects that problem...if he doesnt, he doesnt deserve to continue to be GM of this franchise.

What the hell did you think he was doing this for? He's starting the rounds to repairing his reputation to get another HC gig.

This is not repairing his reputation though. This is him just making more money. He's gonna get a damned job in the NFL with or without ESPN. He went from workign 20 hours a day to doing NOTHING. why wouldnt you go on espn? Freee extra money.

Did he want to take some shots at Pioli? yes,but thats not a way to repair your rep thats for damned sure.

I feel bad for him now. I feel bad for any coach that doesn't have a QB. Mike Tomlin, McCarthy, BB, Payton, all these coaches lucked out getting or inheriting franchise QBs.

You don't repair anything by sitting on your couch. He is not going to get another HCing gig without proving himself through the lower ranks.

They were talking about whether the Jets have turned it around and would get the final AFC playoff spot. Todd basically said don't get excited, they weren't playing the Montana/Rice Niners last week. Said Sanchez just threw it to the running backs a lot and they didn't defend it.

Fascinating hour. Passive aggressive and entertaining. I would expect nothing less from a fired coach 4 days after he lost his job. I wonder if he'll regret doing this when he watches the tape.

Seething smiling is neither.

I give him credit for doing it. He was good. Might have missed his true calling.

You know, it's so funny.

If you spend enough time on this board, it screws with your viewpoint on things (as well as your overall headspace).

But, there are people in the Chiefsplanet community that are damaged. It's sad, but they have somewhat serious mental disorders that are very real. However, they can sit behind a keyboard and plunk out stuff that can affect a thoughtful or open-minded person's opinions. That's just the way it is.

Haley is not the enemy some people would like you to believe. Nor, is he some kind of hero. He is a guy who has worked hard, had some luck, and ultimately got a shot at a head coaching position. He couldn't work with the GM, and now he moves on ... as do we.

Cool. Sounds like KC was well coached if the Jets' offensive approach was so simplistic.

The reaction to this is comical: Haley said some witty things! I knew he was a great coach!

The only guy that went deep was Whitlock and people hated him for it for some reason. During Whitlock's time in KC covering the Chiefs he was right more than he was wrong. The homers hated him.

lol, ya. He just said we didnt play well. He kept saying we then correcting himself to them. lol

I thought it was a telling moment when he was talking about the Chiefs and said 'we' stopped and tensed up his face and eyes and said 'they' correcting himself. They joked about it but it was kind of one of those tense unscripted moments. He handled it well but his body language was pretty interesting.

Pretty much.

He still tried to be smarter than everyone else in camp/preseason. His team was still poorly coached. He still played inferior players. He's still fired.

Essentially, yes. Comments about "Pioli making a mistake" etc. are certainly voicing support and tacit approval of Haley as a coach.

As a person, he's very likable. As a HC, he's still a ****ing joke.

I understand what you're saying and I basically agree. Aside from the Haley situation though Pioli made several roster mistakes. I think we all agree on that... but yes I know that's not the point of the conversation in this thread.

FringeNC 12-15-2011 07:25 PM

Regardless of whether he is a good coach or not, I am not sure he's the crazy one. I think the crazy one may be Pioli. The way Pioli has handled the Haley situation is CRAZY. The off season after which the Chiefs won the division, Pioli has schemed already to get rid of Haley? Just seems...bizarre.
