SD should be so lucky.

He became much more aggressive with the Chargers and his big game losses were due to players not making plays and not coaching decisions. Heck for that matter even when he was play not to lose with KC it was 3 missed fgs and 3 ints that kept him out of a AFC championship game. The Chiefs have never been as good as they were when he was coach less the 65 toss power trap days. No Charger fan can look at you with a straight face and say they are happy Turner is returning unless the are blind homers.

Dick Vermeil won a Super Bowl.

So has Romeo Crennel.

What and the heck has he ever done as a head coach except suck and cost the Chargers 1 if not 2 trips to the Superbowl?

:spock: Turner has accomplished more than Vermeil? Really? Romeo and Weis also won SBs..I think Romeo has been part of 5! Norv has failed a lot in the NFL, Redskins, Raiders and now Chargers.

kcxiv 01-03-2012 04:31 PM

Im pretty sure getting to a SB and winning with another team doesnt count. Its what has ANY Chiefs coach done while Coaching the Chiefs? yeah, nothing.

Not while coaching the Chiefs. Is that it. Is that all you got?

I am just saying; You guys talk a bunch of shit about other coaches and clubs and your cupboards are bare.

“Together, we have stability and experience that’s hard to find in the NFL. They’ve both been in this league a long time. I don’t think there is anything they haven’t seen or experienced. They’ve led us through some difficult situations....

love that line
nothing they haven't experienced...
except winning a super bowl (with this team)

Agreed. I was surprised, and glad, when SD canned Marty.

Indeed. Marty probably has at least two Super Bowl rings by now if he isn't fired. Also if Marlon McCree falls down after the interception, the Chargers probably win the Super Bowl instead of Peyton.

RINGLEADER 01-03-2012 05:55 PM

Awesome.

As it stands now we have at least 3 wins next year against Chargers, Broncos, and Raiders. Good season we'll win at least 5 against this group.

He's right. That's the comparison I am making; Norv's career vs Coaches coaching the Chiefs. He doesn't suck, and he's actually been very successful doing it.

The point you made was that no Chiefs coach had ever accomplished what Turner had, who won a Super Bowl as OC.

Vermeil won a Super Bowl as HC before KC.

Crennel won multiple Super Bowls as DC before KC.

Who gives a shit what Turner did in Dallas.

We'll talk shit on him all we want. He's a turd of a HC, no better than Crennel or Vermeil. He's on par with Herm Edwards.

tk13 01-03-2012 06:25 PM

I can't believe anyone would defend Norv. I would rather have Dungy, Fisher, Billick, almost any other re-tread over Norv. I would honestly rather have Marty coaching the Chiefs against over Norv. Norv has coached for 14 years, won 10+ games three times, one conference title game appearance. You gave Fisher this team he has now and they'd be 12-4 every year.

JD10367 01-03-2012 06:30 PM

It's very simple.

If the Patriots announced Belichick was staying, other fans would say, "Crap."

The Chargers announced Norv was staying, and other fans said, "Thank God!"

That tells you all you need to know about Norv's ability, and the stupidity of the Chargers.

So Vermeil winning a Super Bowl and appearing in two isn't better than Norv? :spock:

Norv hasn't done shit as a HC.

Msmith 01-03-2012 06:46 PM

Beside the Chiefs, the Broncos, and the Raiders fan rejoice, the fans of one particular team also are also happy: the Saints. They regard the Chargers is their farm system.

I can call a spade a spade.

I'd rather have John "I hate consecutive winning seasons" Fox.

1 Super Bowl Appearance FTW

Now that the scare is over.

WOOT!!!

Bark at the moon howel!

Dragonocho 01-03-2012 08:04 PM

I was convinced that SD would hire Haley and he would discipline that team enough to win over the next few years. Norv will keep this team under performing for at at least one more year and that makes me happy.

Okie_Apparition 01-03-2012 08:31 PM

Cowher, Dungy & McCarthy were KC Chief coaches
