I wonder what is your motivation?

Is it to be taken seriously or to be confrontational?

In my opinion, you'd get more of the former if you did less of the latter.

It's clearly a conspiracy.

How can there be any doubt?

Clark Hunt and Scott Pioli called Mike Mayock and told him who the players were that they were targeting so that he could place them in his top 100 prior to the draft.

Did you have sex with Hamas again last night?

You appear to be even more giddy than usual this morning.

Mike Mayock is paid by the NFL last I checked.

The NFL is in the business of helping their franchises sell tickets and will use every possible means... NFL Network included to do that.

Virtually every other media outlet... ESPN, CBS Sportsline, the KC Star that have NFL draft grades out have given the Chiefs mediocre reviews. The only entity giving the Chiefs positive reviews is owned and operated by the NFL.

Coincidence?

It is really a picture of SNR french kissing Hamas as SNR counts down the days and hours when Hamas' self imposed one year exile ends.

boogblaster 04-29-2012 08:49 AM

both sides are right .. our 1st was a needed .. the rest are a toss-up .. it's a hopeful draft for every team .. who knows what a player can be .. none are a given .....

milkman 04-29-2012 08:51 AM

So, the NFL Network gave every team a high grade right?

Not every NFL team has an owner on the NFL Digital Media Committee who is overseeing an organization struggling to sell tickets.

Oh, so the NFL doesn't want to sell tickets in those cities where owners aren't sitting on the media committee.

Got it.

Did the Jaguars get a good grade by NFL Network?

They gave Jacksonville a B and praised their pick of drafting a punter (the earliest a punter has been drafted since 1995)

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/...module=HP11_cp

Jacksonville's draft was pretty much destroyed every where else, except on the NFL Network.

The selection of a punter in the third round was destroyed as well:

ForeverChiefs58 04-29-2012 10:32 AM

Usually former players tend to stick up for teams they played for. It seems though that Jaws likes to throw the Chiefs under the bus a little too much. I have noticed he does that for a long time. Seemed like he enjoyed to take jabs at Marty and Chiefs in general even when we were competitive. Shame.

Anyone with an interest in the Chiefs understands we are drafting very well and getting a very competitive roster. Even with missing at QB, his ceiling could very well be an Alex Smith- 49er type season, which is still better than most teams.

Pretty simple... the NFL Network is in bed with Clark Hunt's efforts to do everything possible to create the illusion the Chiefs are on an upward track towards a good season this year. The NFL Network is in bed with Clark's strategy in the name of selling tickets.

ESPN doesn't give a shit about this and is telling it like it is.

It went that way pretty much all they way through the draft as I switched back and forth pick by pick. Espn dissed us, while NFLN applauded us.

Even Lombardi, who last year said he was looking forward to watching the Chiefs come back to reality in 2011 after '10. Yesterday said, I expect them to make the playoffs this coming season.

It kinda sucked cause I liked listening to Polian, but NFLN was doing a much better job of actually covering the picks (especially in the later rounds) and showing highlights right after the player was taken. :thumb:

NFL Network also was saying we are easily a playoff team this year

DTLB58 04-29-2012 12:59 PM

It's hard for most people to see the big picture when it comes to the draft and building a football team in general. They want to see all starters taken.
Well, besides the NT position, the Chiefs front office doesn't really feel they need to replace any starters so they went for depth. I think some of us knew that going in and some just weren't happy with the particular choice of player and that's kool, cause everyone has a right to their opinion.

But to not get the big picture and just think we should be drafting starters in every round is ludicrous.

We are not acquiring talent, we are building a team. -Bill Belichik

Ryan Leaf and Rick Mirer were #2 overall picks (after Peyton Manning and Drew Bledsoe, respectively). JaFatass, mentioned above. There are so many wrong decisions made about quarterbacks it's not funny.

People clamor for Stanzi for one simple reason: he hasn't been given a chance. He could be nothing but Jim Sorgi. Or he could be Tom Brady. But they'll never know if they don't try him. Matt Cassel? Brady Quinn? They know what they have in those two: not much. On a good day, they can lead a team to a win; on a bad day, they can singlehandedly lose a game. That applies to most quarterbacks but, unlike the very good quarterbacks, Cassel and Quinn (like many other mediocre QBs) can't overcome many obstacles (like turnovers) or make average players look great, or actually lead a team (i.e. be a leader).

Yes, it's possible to win a Super Bowl with mediocrity (e.g. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson). But there's no coincidence that this is the list of the past 20+ years of SB QBs. Note the red years, in which IMO both QBs weren't very good (hence the reason a Dilfer-type won). Note the green names, which seem to repeat. Note the blue names, who are quality one-time winners on this list.

XXIV (1989): Winner, Joe Montana; Loser, John Elway
XXV (1990): Winner, Jeff Hostetler; Loser, Jim Kelly

23 years. 46 participants.

Elway: 3
Kelly: 4
Aikman: 3
Favre: 2
Warner: 3
Brady: 5
Roethlisberger: 3
P. Manning: 2
E. Manning: 2

That list of 9, probably all headed for Canton, comprises 27 of 46 (over half).

In 10 years (89-98), Elway, Kelly, Favre, and Aikman took 12 of 20 spots (with 1 to Montana and 1 to Young as well).

In 13 more recent years (99-11), Warner, Brady, Roethlisberger, P. Manning, and E. Manning took 15 of 26 spots (with 1 to Brees and 1 to Rodgers as well).

And you can even make a case that some of the black-font losers (Bledsoe, McNair, McNabb) are excellent QBs and, with a break here or there, would be in Canton as well.

You can win without a great quarterback. But the odds aren't good. Hence, people want to know if Stanzi is going to be the 10th guy on that list, or a perennial benchwarmer. And you can't find out if you don't play him.

Impressive post! I agree with you 100%

Yet they were completely blown out of 5 games last year, and couldn't break 20 points in a single game the last 9 games of the year.
