I'm sure I'm the only one, but I didn't care for the part about the poll. Not only was it irrelevant it also sounded to me like, "We want input on who the next GM would be".

I thought you knocked the rest of it out of the park.

Well I think most should know that's not what he meant, but ideally he wouldn't have said it. He did a great job. It's a joke that after all that they dwell on that right after the interview.

I dont think he's really defending Romeo the guy. Just what happens during the game, He's played it, he knows a little more about what he's talking about then the host. It all falls back on that Romeo took on to much which he said was the case. He has a real point that by the time he's done talking to the defense it could already be 3rd or 4th down. Ya know the Chiefs are good for fast 3 and outs.

I concur, I know that's not what he was saying, but I was trying to listen to it as someone who had not heard exactly what was going on with the SOC movement would hear it. In that way, it made us look somewhat foolish. I'll stand by my belief that metioning the poll was anything but a good idea.

I understand I'm apt to take some heat for that opinion, but I'm OK with that.

That's fair. That being said, at some point as the head coach you need to have the skill to have a sense of whats going on. How can you decide to go for it on 4th or something like that. If you can't handle doing this to some degree you shouldn't be coaching. As long as he doesn't believe Romeo deserves to be here or should be doing the DC job then I am alright with what he said.

Thats what they said, he should probably not be the DC and the HC. That all falls back on romeo again. lol

Its just a bad bad bad situation all the way around. It's freaking pathetic.

Indeed it is. They are talking about acceptance, I think most of the people on this site accepted who this team was a while before this week.

Generally I would say most people who get into forum posting especially on CP are ahead of the curve in football knowledge as compared to joe schmo fan off the street.

He got kinda led into that one. I don't think it came across as though he was actually trying to identify a legitimate GM or HC candidate, though. It was more like he was talking about fan activity on the site.

Pearson, of course, took it the wrong way as was to be expected.

It's difficult to do one of those interviews without saying something that winds up being misinterpreted. Almost impossible, really.

I was surprised by the amount of time spent on the parking issue.

First of all, I have been operating under the assumption that parking fees went to the county ... not to the Chiefs. Second of all, who cares about where or if people park? We're not trying to save meter maids here. Third of all, showing up for the games and tailgating but refusing to enter the stadium seems like one of the best insults we could fling at Pioli ... heck, it's the equivalent of sports venue monkey poo.

A percentage of the parking goes to the county, the rest goes in the hunt coffers. That was the justification for raising parking prices, to pay the county surcharge.

$4.xx goes to the county and is earmarked for the annual complex maintenance fund due. Another $1 for Chiefs events and $.50 from Royals events goes to the Stadium improvements. The rest goes to parking nazi's, cleanup, and to the respective clubs. Don't know what that means in terms of revenue for the Chiefs and Royals but it's probably a nice little chunk of cash.

Quick math looks like the Chiefs and Royals make about the same on parking through the year not counting special events and college football.

Let somebody else factcheck it. I got that from about 45 minutes of deep google searching with several different key-words. There's a very interesting study of the complex renovations out there from Rutgers (I think) showing how awful it was for the taxpayers.

Phobia 10-29-2012 09:59 PM

Another interesting tidbit I got from tonight. Danni Boatwright was a co-host so naturally Casey is there. Guess who has been in touch asking if he wants to come snap to Cassel? He told me, "They have a lot more problems than a 39 year old center will help." Then we talked about how much real talent they have on paper and how it's ridiculous that they're 1-6. Had a real nice chat for a few minutes before I excused myself. Good old Iowa boy.

I would have to agree. I think Clark had the right idea in Pioli/Haley, he just had the wrong guys. At this point I'm not sure if he had the wrong guy in Haley, because Pioli's incompetence is so ****ing blinding.

LOL, "Disrespecting the Chiefs" not holding a lead in 7 games inside regulation is disrespecting themselves. Though he did give you ammunition for other interviews citing his "refund" comment which is nice in itself.

Just remember guys refer to the facts and stats and something different, because you'll get the "True Fan" question/rebuttal every time. Like that some fans have been fans longer than Clark and Pioli been alive and a generation of fans are being lost because losing has been a constant since they've been alive.

007 10-30-2012 12:40 AM

Disrespecting the Chiefs? Seriously. The fans are still there. They are still cheering for the Chiefs. They are just not wearing red. That isn't disrespect.
