A twist. Interesting.
|
This is probably one of the best Relief Effort Concerts I've seen...Well, Kanye was dressed really weird...that threw me off.
|
Great concert!

Wow Helter Skelter.

Paul McCartney and Nirvana
|
So this is all going to culminate with McCartney fronting Nirvana?
Easily the best benefit concert i can think of, many old geezers really showed they still have plenty in the tank. |
I had this show on two TV channels. One left it an hour ago for their own stupid programming, and the other just crapped out as "Helter Skelter" was beginning.
EDIT: Ah, never mind! Just found it on a third channel, which is kind of amazing considering I have basic, basic cable. |

Rusty sounds great, as always. The whole band is killing it.

God damn, Alicia Keys is one fine beautiful woman.

Why is that guy dry humping McCartney?

Macca with Krist, Pat and Dave. I dug it. Not as cool as Blackbird or Live And Let Die or any of Paul's performance, but cool. |
Alicia Keys grew in the Hell's Kitchen area in NYC - W. 45th St. between 8th & 9th Ave.
Great talent. |

Bruce Springsteen went home?
I'm surprised the performers did not stay for the finale... |

All in all, I thought that was a pretty good show. It was put together on relatively short notice, and no one that I saw completely embarrassed themselves.
|
Loved the Nirvana reunion.

Watching the rebroadcast. As usual, The Who is kicking ****ing ass.
Zac Starkey (Ringo's son) is ****ing amazing. Kenny Jones was always a poor fit. Zac really nails Keith. Gotta love Pino as well. |
The song Sir Paul Mccartney played with Nirvana kicked major ****ing ass!

Glad I didn't bet someone that they would play Hey Jude tonight. lol I would have lost big CC money.
|
I would happily destroy Alicia Keys. Holy ****. How is she so hot?

Can you imagine if they played this song when Michael Stipe came out. How many people would donate all their moneys then go off themselves? |

But they surely could've done a bit more, why bother otherwise? |

Check out the listings of international global feeds to North & South America, Asia, Europe, Africa & Australia - wow. Lebanon? Lebanon is one of the safe havens for Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an organization affiliated with Al Qaeda - There are so many Al Qaeda groupings in Lebanon - They're going to donate? http://www.121212concert.org/broadcast#section-3 |

Dylan, if you get directv rebroadcast coming up on channel 340.
My later classic rock favorites Bruce and Billy were great. Thought everybody was pretty good. Used to hate Kayne, don't anymore but that was a pretty awkward performance. Not really the crowd for him. I guess he was there more to bring in certain viewers. Not in love with McCartney's new stuff but Blackbird is/was awesome. Cool seeing Nirvana, even though they were big just slightly before I was old enough to appreciate them. Seemed a slam dunk that Bruce, Bon Jovi, and Joel would step up during all of this but still cool that they have as enthusiastically as they have. |
340 doing it again tomorrow at 12:30
|
Rabbit is killing! The Who really sound amazing. It would be soooooooo cool to have seen this show in person.

But a song about Julian Lennon really wasn't appropriate as a concert finale. |

I thought it was a bit insensitive on Jon Bon Jovi to sing "Who says you can't go home"
