You have to be careful. As mentioned a while back, O.City is a bit of a sleeper troll when he gets annoyed.

You cant fix a shit QB. Cassel needs to be protected by a great line, great WRs, great coaching in order to do well. Ill take my chances with a QB out of this draft and my number 1 is Geno Smith

He is what he is man. And that's a terrible quarterback.

What does he do well? Think about it.

He has no accuracy.
He has no arm.
He has a slow release.
He has no pocket presence.
He stares down receivers.
He doesn't go through his progressions, therefore he misses wide open receivers consistently.
He cant read defenses.
He crumbles under the slightest pressure.
He holds onto the ball too long.
Hes stupid.

He wouldn't even be a good backup. If he's back as our backup, what if our starter whoever it may be goes down in the preseason? You want another year of one of the worst QBs in the NFL? The season would be over before it started again.

Cut the giant failure and move on already. It's been long enough.

But if there's a fire at One Arrowhead Drive, you'll be happy he's around

Wow. Between this & the other shit Dorsey said about the QBs in the draft, Im about already tired of him.

WHY the hell would we bring Casshole back? There is not one reason to bring him back.

WHY CANT WE GET RID OF HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????

Judge him by his actions. Not his words.

So far he's done a pretty good job IMO going out and signing a few guys and hoping one these pre-free agency bums will make the roster. No issues to report yet.

Cassel is still on the team. Why is this still a story?

COchief 02-17-2013 08:23 AM

Matt, listen up buddy you do not have to take a pay cut! Stick to your guns, after all you graded out perfectly after your four years here. You deserve to be a starter in the NFL, I mean seriously 27-7 and a pro-bowl, who puts on a performance like that and then gets questioned? It doesn't matter that you have no talent or balls, what's important is that you work harder, being unable to throw a football doesn't matter if you stay longer at meetings and play catch in the offseason with your WRs.

BlackHelicopters 02-17-2013 08:31 AM

Just cut him.

I've said for some time now that Cassel would be a great backup. Interesting thing, as much as he's sucked, he still has leverage. If I were him, I'd tell them no.

Cassell should decline and let them cut him. He needs to leave the Chiefs and the Chiefs need to move on. He will get another shot at his rightful position with another team. Clipboard holder.

Why he would accept a pay cut to stay and compete, for the team he shit the bed on is makes no sense.

If oakland would trade a mcdouble for cassle its a win! And id be okay with passing on a first round qb in the event that we get to stick one in oaklands ass and break it off!

After four years Mitch Holtus didn't give him a nickname. He's already practicing on some for the top 4 2013 QB draft prospects.

I'm saying, I'm more of a realist than you. I don't care to see him wear red and gold ever again, even if it was at McDonalds. But I also don't pretend to know if Matt casshole could salvage his career or not, here, someplace else or as a bag boy for save-a-lot. All I'm saying is it would be funny/ entertaining to me. There is no way Cassel salvages what little career he's had. His poor pocket presence, inability to complete throws under pressure, lack of accuracy, poor throwing mechanics + slow release, and inability to complete throws down the field are so significant that at his age it is literally impossible.

Guys like Matt Cassel don't have good NFL careers.

It's like asking if Gus Frerotte could salvage his career.

You say you're a realist...why ignore the reality of every other shitty QB that has come through the league?

Cassel isn't suddenly going to develop pocket presence, accuracy or non-shitty Qb traits at 31.

And in Priest's case, most people thought he wouldn't regain his old form, and he never did. It was an embarrassingly pathetic "comeback."

You've been in the basement on CP too much. Every player to sign an NFL contract has talent. Matt is grossly overpaid for what he's done as a chief. But he can throw a football. And weis proved Matt could have success not in NE. Can Matt get back to that season? I don't know, and neither do you. You just think its easier to sling shit, call names and use absolutes.

With these two, you have to wonder if scheme hurt them. Or if either, both or neither are salvageable to the new DC. I want to agree with you because I think they've been over paid too. Both had a flash or two to give some hope, but it's too little too late. If we keep one, which one and why?

Matt CAN'T get back to that season because he won't face the easiest schedule in the NFL with the best rushing attack and a perfect storm from his WR, OC and multiple DBs dropping INTs EVER AGAIN.

And even IF he did, he'd blow it in the playoffs again. That's not "successful."

Perhaps I chose my words poorly. Matt Cassel isn't a good player. Hali and Priest are and were. Big difference.

We've seen the same shit constantly from Matt for four seasons now.

Sorry, I thought you said NFL teams will not give him another chance. He's done, only positive he has was a soft schedule and lucky bounces.

Lets go a different direction, what QBs that started last year for any team, is worse than casshole? Then which 2nd string?
